:)Hi everyone, Ever since I can remember, I wanted to grow my hair really long. I would even dream about it. About 20 yrs ago, I got my chance & have never cut it since. I never thought I wanted to be a girl, just a guy with long hair. But a year ago, I needed to find something to reduce my sexual desires, & everything I researched, said that a common side effect of available products would be that my breasts may grow. So I had to think long & hard about it, But the more I thought, the more I would like breasts, so I started to take natural female hormones. The longer I took the hormones, The more my desire increased to be a female. So I had to search the internet for support groups, & that's how I found this place. Esther
Hi Esther, and welcome to Susan's
I think you should find a therapist who specializes in gender related issues. It would really be good to talk to a professional about this. It really helped me a lot. You need to know, transition is a process and it's a road full of potholes so you should have the benefit of assistance for the journey. You will certainly find support here, but as for access to hormone replacement, we will all encourage you to seek medical assistance. It's not something to be trifled with. I hope this helps.
safe travels,

Welcome to Susan's family
I would strongly suggest you find a gender therapist. Transition will it be the path you need to walk, it is so, so hard to walk alone. Many try.
GD if that is what will be your diagnosis is not a one size fits all. There are many paths that are taken to find ones happiness.
So agian we are here to support but please seek out some professional help and do it right.

Okay it's a pile on to talk to someone besides us. There is a lot of advice, information, empathy, and even wisdom here - but it doesn't pass for professional guidance. Transition and gender issues ought not be taken lightly, and at the very least it may turn your entire world upside down. The attempted suicide rate for people in the trans community is both scary and real. If in your soul you are a woman then welcome and there are people here who will do anything for you. If you are somewhere else on the gender spectrum, then welcome and there are people here who will do anything for you. See a pattern?
But the key to successfully identifying what path works for you is to read, study, reflect, chat us up; but always, always find a specialist that you trust and then listen.
Rant given, welcome to the sandbox, share, play fair, and I look forward to getting to know you.
Peace,
Julie
I do hope you have some medical supervision of the hormones you are taking.
Welcome, What kind of natural hormones are you talking about? Like soy? I tried that out for a bit bit felt stupid, haha. But I'm guilty, I still like to put it in my coffee.
