I've noticed recently I've started losing my hair. Bit by bit, my hairline is moving upwards in that ugly male pattern baldness. It's not that bad right now and it's only begun but I'm freaking out. And it still won't be a while until I can get hormones to make this stop. What can I do in the mean time????
How old are you?
I'm 23, at 22 I thought I was going bald, but I sought help. They will help you determine your cause for baldness, in my case it wasn't just MPB, but bad diet and pushing myself too hard in losing weight. They did a bunch of thyroid tests and ruled that out as the cause too. I lost weight the unhealthy way, and I also lost lots of hair. I've seen some hair re-growth after proper diet, biotin and tricomin. I used Rogaine for a while, but it was really doing a number on my skin, so I quit.
More importantly, I'm not losing any more hair now. I don't even notice much hair after showering.
Go to a doctor and get a prescription for avodart (dutasteride) if you can. If not, finasteride will do just fine in helping you maintain what you have now. Both are DHT blockers, but dutasteride blocks both types of DHT, while finasteride only blocks one kind.
Rogaine 5% is the next step. And biotin supplements are another great way to help hair grow quickly.
All of this takes a few months to really kick in, but it'll definitely help you before HRT.
