Title: Time to kiss and tell. What is the best post op dilation schedule you reached?
Post by: mrs izzy on August 29, 2014, 01:36:34 PM
Ok Sisters,

What is the best post op dilation schedule you reached?

I am 15 months post and i am now at 2 days off and 1 day dilation.

It feels like its going to be the best schedule i will reach.

did the 2 on, 1 off, then 1 on, 1 off now ......

Is there hope for the 1 x a week and keeping depth and width?

added in edit, i am only using #4 OMG S.S. dilator. Nothing else. Can reach depth with in 1 min. Just notice each time i cut out a day it does get tighter for sure.

Once a week, as Brassard recommended to both of us. It did, however, take me close to the two-year mark to get to that point; before that I spent at least six months at twice a week. I honestly think when he says "taper down," he basically means most women will get there eventually, but we'll have to listen to our own bodies to see when it's possible.

To be perfectly honest, the main reason I got down to this was that I went on a business trip for a week and figured that even though I was still a little scared to try, I'd wait the whole week and dilate when I got home. :) It worked out fine, and then I stuck with once a week thereafter.

I am about 2 x a week now and yes it is just so scary, i do not want to give back and have to go back to more times a day or week.

Thanks will just stick to where i am now i guess. It is doable so not much of a issue.

Why not so easy.

Well, you know the drill. :) When you feel a little brave, try waiting just one extra day, and see if you have trouble. If not, you can stick with that schedule, and then keep decreasing. But yeah, the instructions sound like you'll end up at 1/weekly pretty much right after the one-year mark, yet some of us will take considerably longer to get to it.

I try to do it once a month. But I am sexually active quite a bit.

I was in uni with about 15 contact hours a week, so had lots of free time on my hands.

I was still living at home and mum was a freak. "Have you dilated today?" "remember its 3 times a day", "remember that you've got to do the bigger size".

I asked her why was she so hard with it and she said "that vag cost a fair bit of money love"

I'm at every 2-3 days currently, and using #3 and #4 (supposed to be once a week with #4 only at this point.)

I had a lot of problems with control of my PC muscle to relax it - every other day was painful and every third was excruciating. I had several sessions of pelvic physical therapy and had a lot of improvement.

Agreed :) Congrats by the way!!

It takes awhile for all the swelling to go down to where the larger sizes are comfortable. As long as it's not glaringly uncomfortable but there's enough pressure to apply a little expansion you're probably fine.

Long-term as in years? Whenever, basically, and in whatever way you feel like. Stay active to maintain suppleness, depth, and circumference, which will lessen otherwise (I've heard some say once a week is sufficient.)

These days dilation is apart of my sex life, masturbation or sex itself.

I am many years post and its not something I often think about

At 1 year 6 months i have made it to 3 days off between dilation.

Will i make it ever to once a week? Each day off has added time i need to dilate.

In its own time i guess

Coming up on two years post... 2 times per week (aka 3 days in between each). I don't think I'll risk the once per week routine.

At 21 months out, it is still supposed to be 1 dilation or pv sex per 24 hours, but the second option is not happening (too old and ugly) and I am having periods where it is more like 2/72 hours and not always the same time of day, but hell, an old broad like me can get away with some stuff.  I did go 3 full days OFF one time, and it made things so dry inside that it took a long time to work the dilator in.

once a week, dr.B.
I am always worried "what if I am in a accident, enter a coma, and can't dilate for an extended period of time?
zombie appocalypse?
deployment in war?
crayyy thoughts. I hate having to "Rely" on having dilating times...
