I decided tonight was the night since I have all of the hormones and intend on starting tomorrow. I thought something like this is too big to do without my mother knowing everything so I called her and told her.
It went amasingly well. I have her unwavering love and support for everything. She even called me Heather and told me she always wanted a daughter and will be happy to have one. She told me she needs to teach me how to do my makeup because that's what mothers and daughters do. :)
It was incredible. I feel as if a tremendous weight has been lifted from me. I'm waiting for the cathartic cry but it will be a good one.
So far I have the absolute support of my mum and my best friend. I'm feeling good about things.
Congrats, that's a huge step!! A process like this is always easier when you have the love and support of the people you love! Good luck with the HRT, you are in for an amazing ride!!!
Always great to hear about it going well. Congrats. :)
Happy for you :)
Wow, that's great, good for you!! :)
I'll be doing the same thing in about 10 days.. I'm totally out at work and verging on fulltime.. I've been wanting to tell her for months but I've been several thousand kilometres away; so I've organised her to fly down next week for a nice catch up and a big talk...
I've changed so much in the last few months since she last saw me, so fingers crossed its not too much of a shock.... I will be seeing her again in October immediately prior to flying to Argentina for FFS, so really had to organise this meet up prior to that... I soo hope it works out, we have been through so much together. She has always wanted a daughter too but had three 'boys', so hopefully I can make this as pleasant a surprise as possible :), she knows something big is up, just not what (she knows its not terrible though), so fingers crossed.
Thanks for sharing your story, just what I needed to hear at the moment!! :) Claire
