I'm not sure I have the correct information, but I read somewhere recently that here in Scotland, it is possible to "self refer" to a gender identity clinic, without the need for going through the regular route those down south have to follow (where you need to chase a doctor and a psych for referrals). Could anyone confirm if this is actually true?
Thanks ~
If this is true then it's dependant on geographical location within Scotland. They changed the system in Tayside about a year ago and it's impossible to self refer from here.
I self referred to Sandyford in Glasgow and got put on a 13 month waiting list, so you definitely can self refer there.
Which area of the country did you self refer from Aeryn? I tried the same thing and was told that they just didn't accept self referrals from tayside.
