Hello Everyone,
I just wanted to share my experience so here goes nothing. I have an amazing Gender Therapist. I've already been to two sessions and need one more before she will write my letter to the Endo. I'm very happy. My case was an open and shut one so basically I'm halfway there. After my next session she will have one more meeting with me and go over my letter to make sure everything is good with it. So I should be on T anywhere from mid October - early November. She would like me to wait at least 6 months before having top surgery. I'm okay with this since I was going to wait for my chest to build up and my body to redistribute a little. After that time frame she will set me up with Dr. Garromone. So far my experience has been amazing. If anyone in the South Florida Area needs any help with resources, please let me know and I'll give you my GT info and my Endo info.
That's such a positive post, great news for you..!
Hello's from central Florida... :)
I'm glad you have such an amazing therapist. I believe my therapist is out of South Florida as well and I basically had three sessions before she wrote my top surgery letter.
Thats awesome! I'm from South Florida originally. I've seen a lot of good people come out of the treasure coast/palm beach area.
I was in Central Florida in the beginning of my transition. It was slim pickings when I was looking for a doc. Luckily I found one.

Yes, finding a doc was a bit of a mission but thankfully my GT recommended one and I liked him enough to pick him as my doc.
That's great that you've had such a good experience with your therapist!
Congrats man.
Get those funds secured. Once you have them get the surgery, you don't have to wait 6 months.

You might have to wait if the one writing the surgery letter requires it.

Well as long as they actually write it then and not come up with some bs about putting it off longer.

I know I don't have to wait 6 months (my therapist told me so), but considering my build I'd like to wait until T has affected my upper body. I probably won't have enough patience to wait any longer than that so I'm working my butt off to get the money together.

I'm not worried about this at all. Actually, when my therapist asked me who I picked as a surgeon and I told her Garramone she jumped for joy! lol She said he was the best of the best and works with him often enough to know that he is fantastic at what he does and would write up a letter for him when I was ready.

I'm looking for a doctor in Florida (I'm in North Florida) and was wondering if you could maybe point me towards one? I'm having a tough time. I could potentially travel to Central FL. Sorry to hijack the post :-X
