So I have began to notice that while men wear belts to keep their pants up (functional) women use them more often than not as an accessory, or something to break up an outfit that would otherwise blend and look very monochromatic (I think that's the biggest word I have ever used lol). So just wondering the belt is worn with jeans, are most women using it in a functional manner because while the jeans fit in the thigh/hip area they are too loose in the waist? Or is it just a hidden accessory that is done out of habit?
Usually, but not always, still an accessory.
I've noticed, when you sit, wearing a belt when you have to go to the bathroom quickly makes it hard to go quickly. Never had to undo the belt when I habitually stood. I would say accessory and out of the loops.
I have so many belts I wouldn't know what to do with them, but I haven't used one to keep a pair of pants up in many years.
In fact, trying to remember the last time I wore a belt with a pair of pants
Hips keep the pants or skirts up. So belts are definitely an accessory. Plus, belts are often worn with dresses...obviously not to keep anything up there. Mainly they're used for a pop of color, or to accentuate the waist.
My hips aren't very wide, so I try to make it look like I'm just accessorizing, but I'm really trying to keep everything from falling down.
You people obviously don't skate, having a belt to keep your jeans up is pretty damn essential.
That's true. I don't skate. i would get hurt. A lot.
