After coming out as a transgender woman on CNN's Anderson Cooper 360, former U.S. Navy SEAL Kristin Beck agreed to be the subject of this powerful full-length documentary profile about her life and career. The film was broadcast just this past weekend on CNN, bringing her courageous story to viewers across the country.

I have it taped but am holding off watching it for some reason. I have communicated with her via twitter a couple times. I also heard that she is making a run for congress or something.
She's making a difference, thats for sure.
Last week I got to meet and chat with Ms Beck for a while followed by a screening of 'Lady Valor' with her. She seems to be a genuinely nice person.
I've shared with co workers that they should have a look. One point that was discussed is that it seems she is seen as too 'butch' and not even trying to be feminine. I was annoyed and bothered by the observation. I'm not incredibly feminine myself, but Im a woman. Who's to say what defines a woman?
I got into a huge argument about men and women just being different. Women can't be effective combatants in war nor good NFL players.
In hand-to-hand combat only a very very rare kind of 'woman' would be effective. I had no good argument about the hormonal/physical/genetic differences.
Please help me shut down this rationale.
