...you wear a dress to work that you like and a number of people compliment you on it.
What is your "It's really nice when..." moment? :)
Oh you have had your hair done - it looks great!
and
Really like your manicure, who does it?
It's really nice when people give compliments about my long hair.
It's really nice when my best friend says I look beautiful
It's really nice when my mom finds the most amazing clothing and shoes for me
It's really nice when people compliment about my guitar playing and songs
It's really nice when I don't get carded for my id since it still says m as the sex.
^ hoping to get a passport soon so I can show that as identification where ever I go instead of my lame DL, since you can at least get it changed without needing bottom surgery.
When people appreciate my efforts to look pretty.
When girls comment how sweet I am (guys don't ever say this to me, though, lol)
When my best friend doesn't care that I shave, actually she is totally OK with it
When one of my friends still talks to me after knowing I'm trans and want to start HRT.
When people gender me female on the phone, or confuse my voice with my mom's.
When you can talk to a guy who's cis (and he's hot, lol). I am actually gonna text him soon. I feel so brave today, lol. >.<
When I can spend time reading a book calmly.
When I find a way to make someone else's day brighter. Giving them a massage or preparing them breakfast, I know it seems cliché but I love taking care of people.
When I'm with my grandma and make her proud.
When my wife tells me she loves me and we'll have a great life together, no matter what. (She's so awesome. Definitely won the wife lottery with her.)
When you are in a class being misgendered by the instructor and get a room full of stunned, disbelieving looks from your classmates when you call him on it.
"He or she. Pick one, Tony and stick with it. Just a warning, one will cause you trouble."
its really nice when a cute guy looks at me and smiles, its so cool because you can tell its not a guy to guy smile.
I have 10 natural nice long perfect nails. I do a lot of gardening type work & live on a nice farm. It's so hard not to chip or break one nail, then I have to start all over.
It's really nice when I absentmindedly run my hand up my arm and am shocked by how different the skin feels - almost impossibly soft, and so smooth. Like a girl should feel.
It's really nice when every time I look in the mirror, I see a little bit more of me looking back than the day before.
Being complimented about looks and style by hardcore lesbians...
When my spouse and I are shopping and she holds up a cute outfit and says "this would look SO cute on you!" :)
And it's nice when she shares her expensive hair products with me and shows me makeup tips and hints.
I would have to agree with some of the other people here, its really nice when I get gendered properly. It definitely helps reduce my anxiety and makes me feel like I'm doing something right.
...a three hour electrolysis session feels like only one hour because the operator is so easy to talk to.
Oh the pain Grace. I know exactly what you mean.
Girls are now a C and having a bra that fits perfectly is so good.
When one of the co-workers you came out to calls you by you preffered name. I like that.
...when a waiter in a restaurant tells you that you have lovely eyes, and you're with a couple of really pretty cis girlfriends...
It's really nice when you pull a shirt over your head to put it on and it gets caught on your boobs
IT really nice when...
I get my nails done
I wear sexy lingerie under my clothes
I dress up in a pretty dress
I go shoe shopping and I rock a pair of high heel boots
sitting out the back, having a few glasses (more like bottles) with your best friend and just talking about everythings & nothings, lapping up the spring sunshine.
It's oddly nice (and weird) to see your reflection in a window or mirror and realize you are now the attractive girl you "couldn't get" back in "those days"
Yesterday my wife and I met an old friend who had not known about my transition until a few days prior. She told that about the biggest change in the last five years was us both getting new jobs. Then I kind of just stared at her and said "Really, that's the big change?" She then said she was so used to me being me she didn't even think about it.
That was really, really nice. :)
you tell a new facebook friend that you were not born a cis woman however I'm a woman, taking hrt & hopeful to become a nicer & more complete woman with my grs one day. Then they are so happy for you & treat you like any other woman friend. All women have problems & need to help each other. It's so nice to be a member of the sisterhood with so many cis women friends.
Getting treated in "that" way (special smiles and extra friendliness) by other women that lets you know they see you as female. I never got anything like that living as a guy, but as Eva it is happening more and more.
You get a mani/pedi - wish I could more often.
You go out and still get treated as a woman when you don't pass.
You finally reach the point of self acceptance, stop caring what others think and the weight of the world lifts off your shoulders.

It is nice when you feel shy because you weren't expecting people to say you are looking good!
It is nice when people calls you with the correct pronouns and when family don't call you by your birth name
...you get on the train and a bloke nips past you saying "sorry, miss". Miss?????! :D
Sunglasses are very helpful, and cover a multitude of sins ie: eyebrows.
...someone is addressing a group of women that I'm part of as "ladies". Seriously, I don't know why it makes me feel so freaking happy but it does. It's even better when it's coming from another woman.
You get your eyebrows done and see how much of a HUGE difference it makes.
Literally from Tarzan to Jane!
Spending $300 on a dress for the races, knowing that you'll only wear it once
When someone walks into my lab and asks if my old name is in, and a male staff member says no; but Cindy is, I'll take you to her.
...when I can gently startle a work colleague who hasn't yet seen me as a girl. Watching their reactions is priceless :D
Yesterday:
"Hello Paco"
[Uncertainly] "Hello..."
"How are you?"
"Um, ok, do I know you...?"
"Yes, I'm Julia" (I've not changed my real name - it's genderless)
"Oh my G-d, I just thought you were one of the girls on this floor!"
"So I'm not so scary then...?"
LOL Cindy, Julia! ^-^
When you have a boyfriend who sees you as a regular girl.
When someone trusts you enough to ask for advice
When youre alone and can be yourself
When you draw something perfectly

...bartenders buy you and your wife a round of drinks just because you're fun and a bit silly.

...getting compliments like this! Thanks, hon! :)
...a new work colleague is shocked to realise I'm some 14 years older than him because he sincerely thought I was in my thirties. Wow! Given I'm nearing 49 that's a pretty awesome thing to be told. ;D
When my wife tells me I smell yummy. :D
A man opens a door for me, looks down at me, gets a great big incredible smile and says "Hi".
When people accept me as a woman, as Jennifer and not as anything else.
Sitting on a dock at the lake, watching the sun set and enjoying nothing other than finally being me, finally finding peace.
Jen
when I get called Sir
makes me feel good

When I wake up in the middle of the night like right now,
And there are no new topics by hurting sisters or brothers talking about suicide.!

It's really nice when... my wife who is trying to find acceptance in living with a trans spouse, while in bed, pulls my arm over her for a long embrace.
