Title: Autoimmune disease = No feminization from hrt?
Post by: HelloKitty on September 11, 2014, 07:34:34 AM
Does anyone know if an autoimmune disease (IGA Nephropathy) would have any effect on feminizing?
My friend has this and wants to transition and is completely in the closet still I'm the only one who knows.

As long as she is under the care of an endocrinologist it should be no problem. I know two girls with Lupus on HRT and being managed well. IgA Nephropathy should not be a problem.

I have IgA Immune Deficiency, also an autoimmune disorder, and I'm doing OK so far. Granted, I don't have the kidney issues your friend does but I haven't heard of autoimmune disorders contraindicating transitioning.
