Title: First Session Jitters
Post by: rbeccacross on September 14, 2014, 08:16:01 PM
I thought I would jump into the mix here.

Before I had my first session it took me a good 1 to 2 years event to find a therapist.  I would email and then not follow up.  One day I finally had enough games and just made an appointment.  Our first couple sessions were spent talking about other things. Then it finally turned around and I began opening up.  A couple months later I saw the gender therapist to go through the diagnosis  of GID.  I took the tests and passed with flying colours.  I still do see the therapist because although I have been approved for HRT i have not started it yet.  I will still be in therapy even after SRS I believe.  Its been one of the best things I did.  We talked and dealt with not only my GID, but depression, anger, anxiety, fears and so much more.

Best of luck to everybody else.

Glad you are finding your session fruitful.

That's what they are supposed to be.

Places we go to get things in a perspective that can help us deal with all the stresses of transition.
