Title: You get one question
Post by: jamesdoran on September 15, 2014, 09:56:03 PM
A genie appears! It's not the traditional three wish kind, but the genie is infinitely wise and
informs you he will answer one question that you ask him, no matter what it is. What would you ask?

Thats a really hard question. I guess that, being who I am today, I'd ask how to best protect the girl I love.

Honestly though I'd be tempted to ask plenty of other things though. Things that I should have asked instead but didn't, like the cure for cancer, or how to help more people accept our community as it is.

Its hard to decide on one question when you have to answer to anything at your fingertips.

I would cheat and ask how to get powers that are probably not acquirable but might seem possible in the context of a reality that includes genies. If I couldn't cheat like that I would probably still ask for something weasely, like I'd ask to know what question I should be asking. Even if that used up my question it would be a valuable signpost. Unless the answer was as vague as my question. Nevermind. I have no idea.

I feel like we already have the answers or a path to the answers to most questions we are capable of asking, so this is a really difficult thought experiment. Maybe I would ask what the practical limits on human longevity are, or how to realistically maximize quality of life in living humans.

I would ask him what road to take to be successful in my branch. Maybe really selfish but if all he does is answering, you first have to take action yourself anyway for anything to come true. Just as well ask something for myself then > _ <.

"What is the answer to life, the universe, and everything?!"

Of course, his answer may simply be 42.

You and a lot of other people would.

However the pot would be so small, that we would be lucky to get one penny(maybe?)

I would ask him if he could do me cisgender.

Being the unambitious and humble aspiring Goddess-Empress of Humanity that I am, I would probably ask "How can I conquer the world and keep it under my control afterwards?" "How can I help humanity unite and create a working utopia?"

That's a good question, the easiest way would be to turn everyone into mindless slaves under your will but then it removes the fun out of it. Fear works too. Like if your not happy I'll smite the so you have a happy utopia to live in.

I'd ask the genie what the best way would be to achieve my goals (obtaining wealth and fame to help the trans community and many others on a wide scale level).
