Title: Missouri gender change ready to file pro se.
Post by: Missy~rmdlm on September 17, 2014, 05:15:12 AM
I have prepared my court filing papers this week at five months post-op. I will be filing in the next few days here in Missouri. Without an objection, publishing period, or lawyer plugging along, this could move quickly.

I'll update this thread with news of success or failure in due time.

Is this just to change your gender status & or to also change your name?  Just if you have time. Good luck.

My name was changed in the past. This is a purely legal gender recognition case for birth certificate update only.

My case was filed today, with the Bureau of vital statistics listed as the defendant I have a high bet they won't bother showing after being served tomorrow.

One month has passed. All parties have been served, I have a hearing next Friday. With a little luck my case will close cleanly in a week. This remains a thing to make me nervous here in conservative-ville St Charles Missouri court.

The case closed today. Judgment was passed in my favor. That makes me one of the few to have ever updated a Missouri birth certificate for gender.

To have your gender marker changed, pre-op, without having to follow Missouri statute 193.215(9) please follow all instructions at the following public resource page: http://transascity.org/missouri-transition-information/
