Title: Jockstraps?
Post by: Maleth on September 17, 2014, 04:00:11 PM
Okay, so basically I need to get myself a harness but I just want to get a jockstrap and modify that. Does anyone know a good place to go buy a jockstrap from? I have a walgreens near me but I haven't checked in fear of embarrassment. I pass about half the time so I'm afraid of it being awkward too or like at the register when I have to pay for it I don't want them to look at me weird.. any advice on that? How to make buying stuff like that not awkward?

Any sports store will have them, places like Wal Mart even, in the sporting goods section, where the accessories are, usually it's to the back of the isle, because lots of people feel embarrassed buying them.. It only makes you feel uncomfortable because you're using it in a different was than most, but they don't know that in the store.? Every high school kid, and college athlete has to buy them regularly, it's nothing to be embarressed about... Just know your underwear size before, l-xl-xxl etc. and go buy a few pizza's, some soda and a jock, perfect camolfauge..! :)

Why don't you order it online. International Jock has a great collection. But when I want to buy something awkward in store, I would just do my shopping all together and buy a lot of stuff so that single item won't catch any attention.

Yeah I usually pick up something else I might need. I don't feel too funny. I think more so if I had to buy some girly thing.

I used Jock Strap Central.  http://www.jockstrapcentral.com/index.php

As SWNID said, there is also International Jock:  http://www.internationaljock.com/jockstraps.html

I have gone through a bunch of different styles through the years until I settled on the one that suits me the best.  Then I bought a bunch of them.

You need to decide if you want to feel the packer up against you (go for more of a fashion jock), or it you want to just be able to drop your packer in a pocket, then get a cup supporter.

Thanks for the replies, guys. I'm looking for something in the area so I'll probably just buy a bunch of other things with it while I'm at the store.

hey, i hope y'all dont mine me jumping in with a tangentially related question. i was hoping to avoid starting a similar thread while this one was still on the first page.

anyway, i was wondering if anyone here had used a minimalist style strap to pack, and if so, how well it worked. i ask because i like low-coverage aspect of a harness (there's only so many layers i cant take!), but otherwise strongly prefer a jockstrap.

there are some low key fetish? type jockstraps (http://www.jockstrapcentral.com/productdisplay.php?product=03037 (http://www.jockstrapcentral.com/productdisplay.php?product=03037)) out there that leave the shaft exposed, but honestly, i'm having a hard time gauging whether or not something like that could be used when your dick is, you know, not actually rooted in your pelvis. ideas? i feel like a friggin moron for asking, but my jockstrap experience is pretty nonexistent, so. help? any advice on style specifics would be very much appreciated.

I understand your nerves hun, but really, the average cashier either won't care or will assume you are buying it for your SO. It's like buying lingerie used to be for me, strike up a conversation with the cashier and they don't even look at what they are ringing up for you! :)

In other words: Head high, smile in place, OWN IT!  :)

Really I wouldn't think about it. It's difficult to act relaxed but that's what you need to do. Just think of it as an errand you have to run because your brother joined an amateur football league and for some strange reason can't buy his own jockstrap.

I have no problem in buying one at Walmart, most Walmart's in my area have self checkout available.  I have a bigger problem in buying tampons, sorry I still need them,so always buy the largest box they have.

Funny question though, how do you tell if it's actually a pocket to place your junk in or some other design (unless you see it of course). I got some Papis online. They actually do not have a pocket, more of a little soft cup to place your junk up against. Since it was doubled I cut them and sewed a cup into them. I would rather not do that again, given I don't like to sew.

Good question and one I wondered about too.  The one I got was like that (if I'm understanding you right), it didn't have something to put your junk into, rather it just wraps around in front of it with a place for ball support. At first I thought, great, this isn't going to work for me at all. I have to say though, it works really well, even like that.  I tried it on with my junk in place and it felt very secure. The main thing is that it's the right size so that it sits snugly against your body. I cut a small hole in the front to put the shaft through and it's even more secure (since I use it as an STP) and just put underwear overtop of that.  Works like a dream. Super comfortable and I can't imagine it ever failing on me. I think the other thing I look for is that it's for support only, without a protection cup.

FWIW I got Formedica Athletic Support on Amazon.

I'd like to know how to find them with the pocket as well.
I have an athletic jock (Shock Doctor) because it's the only one that I've found that states that it has a cup pocket... I got it from Dick's Sporting Goods.

captains, I think it is an excellent question.  It is funny because I noticed this exact jock strap when I was looking for the site for Maleth.  I think that this one would work very well.

I wear this style jock strap:

http://www.internationaljock.com/american-jock-athletic-mesh-scoop-jock-blackred,33920.html

The above jock is not the exact one I wear, but what it has in common is the opening above the pocket.  I find that if you have the opening, it allows the cock to drop down where it is supposed to be (you pack the shaft inside).  Most jock straps result in the packer riding up.  With this style jock strap, the shaft stays right against the clitoris, which is where it should be, as gravity allows it to drop down and stay down.

The above is also the only jock strap I have found besides my particular one (which I can't seem to find on the internet right now), in this style (just FYI).

The reason why I think the jock strap you posted would work, is that the shaft sticking through the hole should keep the packer in place.

ETA:  Found it!  http://www.internationaljock.com/joe-snyder-jockstraps-underwear,4096.html

I use the above jock strap with Mr. Limpy.  The RM basic packer works as well.  The Stylishflesh Endy also works.  I am thinking that the larger packers would not.

As you can see, this one has less material than the American Jock I posted.  The Joe Snyder may not be the coolest looking jock strap out there, but it works well and I like as little material as possible, since I am putting underwear on top.

When I say the term "pocket", I mean the ones with athletic cups.  You take the cup out and throw your packer in.  Typically, all the other jocks are open backed unless it says otherwise.

Thanks again everyone. I'm going shopping soon for a good jockstrap to convert into a harness so I'll let you all know how it goes.

@Alice Rogers: Thank you for the encouragement.. I'll try to keep confident. ^_^

Yes you understood me correctly. I wanted an actual place to put the junk. The whole point for me is keeping what I'm wearing as far away from my skin as possible. Therefore I wear over my underwear. If I do this I can tolerate a packer, otherwise not.

Ohhh I see. Fair enough.  From what I've seen when looking at jockstraps, there's been no indication what style it is, unfortunately. I'm not really sure why, as I would imagine most people would want to know exactly what style they're getting and you really can't tell from the picture on the front...

Jay, have you tried the regular athletic ones?  The ones with the hard cups you just remove and then toss your packer into?  It may not matter to you, but then you could wear your underewear on top, rather than underneath.

Yes I have an underarmour one, but to me it is a bit expensive. I use it for swimming and physical activity (like hiking). It is a material that dries quickly and wicks to some degree.

Well update: I went to my local Burlington (i went because there aren't any malls around here and it's a 20 min walk away so its my go-to place) that had a couple floors with an array of stuffs for sale. I had to ask an associate for help finding one and tried to be initially discreet about it, saying I needed "athletic underwear for guys" and he didn't really get it so I had to flat out ask where their jockstraps were. He sounded kind of confused and I ended up being directed to the underwear section but alas no jockstraps on sale. >_< I'm just gonna order one online.  :embarrassed:

Awww, sorry buddy.  But, at least there is the fun part of waiting for a package!  ;D

Any local sporting goods store would have them, as well.

Thank you so much for your help! Like you said, I've been looking for something I can wear under my underwear, but I was completely lost on what would work and what wouldn't, so this reply was very much appreciated.

There are so many different styles, I'm honestly starting to get kind of into this. I'd never considered the option of packing with a jock before, and -- god, I can't even explain why, but somehow it feels like a relief. Buying ~athletic support is a hell of a lot easier than buying a big, bad harness.

Yes, ive never packed with a harness; i can't imagine doing that. Recently, I got an Endy from Stylishflesh, and have used their harness for the Endy, but other than that, it has always been a jock strap. Eons ago, when i first started packing, that was all there was.  There weren't packing harnesses, only heavy leather ones built for play.  The Terra Firma is still my strap of choice for play!
