A female co-worker was having trouble opening a jar. She couldn't budge the lid. Another female co-worker, quite an athletically built one, similarly had no luck. I tried tapping the jar lid on the edge of my desk first as it can help (a trick utilised to good effect by my mother)...and even then I couldn't budge it a smidge. A couple of years ago I probably could have opened it, but the HRT really has had an effect on my strength. I did try, but I was actually secretly glad I couldn't do it. One of the men in the office got it open. I wasn't even prepared to say I'd loosened it (a typical bloke boast), it's probably stupid (sad even) but but being unable to open it just confirmed I was one of the girls! ;D
I remember something similar. There was a gas bottle in the lab and my female tech couldn't open the valve. She turned and looked at me and then just said -'I'll go and find a man'
Let the guys gave their moment of glory!! Lol!
Seriously. Jars have become the bane of my existence. I also have noticed it takes me way more trips to the car to get all of my groceries out.
Worth it? You bet!
nice :)
Gahh the struggle is real! But I wouldn't have it any other way :)
OH my goodness I am 100% sure I would have no problem opening that jar.
For some reason, although I am tiny and only weigh 120 lbs, I feel like I have this incredible strength when I am carrying groceries or opening jars. My wife always comments how I have like no muscles and do absolutely nothing to work out, yet I am unnaturally tough. I kind of dislike it. Please help me. Have I come to the right place?
Even with my 6'7" height and build I'm having difficulties with jars with HRT. It's satisfyingly frustrating, LOL. I have a rubber jar opener thingy that helps get more torque that gets it open for me. (Especially that jar of coconut oil that tightens itself after every use.)
