After seeing the wife and family off to dinner, and finishing the taping of an episode of WWE RAW (yes, wrestling is one of my guilty pleasures, and I do know it is fake), I then went through all of my lingerie, dresses, tops etc to see what I have, what is too all, what I can give to my wife as presents etc, and then decided to run myself a nice warm bath, put in a bath bomb from LUSH (for the non Australians out there, LUSH is a store that sells hand made bath bombs, soaps, and other associated items), and grabbed a bottle of Chardonnay to drink. I also got my iPod and am playing some nice enjoyable music.
What do the rest of you like to do to rest, relax, and unwind? Whether it be to unwind after a hard week, whether it be to get over an argument, whether it be to just chill?
I buy/ download a new album and listen to it.
It doesn't matter what it is, Jazz, classical, Alternative, rock, or anything really, and just sit there and listen to it.
If its good than it thrills me and I just sit there and listen. If its bad I sit there and try to work out why. By the time I get to the end of the album I always feel good, I don't know why, I just do :P
If I can get out I grab my shoes and go bowling. Focus the mind and throw something heavy at objects for three games relaxes me
Pending how my hair is, I will have it redone. I can and have fallen asleep in the chair
If I just want to stay home it's either listening to ska or watching clasic Dr Who
I might go to the range or a friend's farm and squeeze off a couple hundred rounds.
Or I might switch on my ham radio set and make some contacts.
I might sit with the kids and watch a movie with them. Movie night has been a regular feature of our weekends now. I enjoy that a lot.
Sailing and photography are my two escapist activities - It is always nice to "get away"
be well
jennifer
have a glass of wine
take a bath
watch cheap laugh TV
take the puppup for a walk
go for a run
catch up with friends
talk for hours on the phone to my best friend
sit in my wonderful backyard and get some sun, while having a glass of wine with my best friend talking about the last walk with puppup
If it's not to hot, I like to walk around downtown, especially with the dogs. Its a very rustic old fashioned town, with outdoor cafes and shops. We have the most lovely French vintage clothes shop with a French cafe upstairs. There's a dog treat bakery on one corner, and across the street is an old restraunt with exotic parrots wandering around, sometimes out on the sidewalk talking to people.
Its hard not to have a great time.
Read
Watch or go to the movies
Listen to music
Walk or jog.
Take a nice long bath
Chat with friends.
Spend time with my dog and 2 cats.
and shopping.
Music
Wine
Wineries
Hanging out with my dog
A good movie
LUSH is a worldwide thing, we have them here in the states. Their animal welfare stance and ethical materials sourcing sold me on their products years ago.
I quite like watching some of the Trains at Speed (UK) videos on YouTube. I'm a bit of a rail fan and have a thing for the InterCity 125.
Alternatively, I'll browse for clothes on Amazon or read an SCP article.
If I'm stressed I blast out favourite albums
If I'm angry I play drums (loud) or blast out the heaviest metal at my disposal
If I'm just generally feeling awful and need to chill I'll get some comfort food and a less heavy favourite album
Music music music!

I thought I was the only rail fan.
And one of my favourite trains in Sydney is the XPT, which was copied from the Intercity 125.
Putting on raincoat
Grabbing chainsaw or axe
Roaming city at night

Those things do not have to be complimentary, You know... :D
Tend the flowers and trees.
Watch puppies or fun TV shows or documentaries.
Play games.
Cuddle with SO.
Sleep.
Eat.
I draw/paint a lot but it's for work, it's relaxing though.
When I need to Jillax, sometimes I put on music that isn't metal, go out on my lanai and have a drink from my tiki bar.
If I'm not in the mood for a drink, sometimes I soak in the tub with the jets on with a cup of tea, read a book or play the guitar.
I also like to cook fun things.
I have no idea how to relax. I mentally physically and emotionally cannot do it. Literally the only way I have ever done all of those at one time was via marijuana. But I dont like doing drugs so im kinda stuck between a rock and hard place. :-\ Cigarettes I suppose is the closest I get to relaxing. and I wouldnt even call it that, I call it deescalating

Tom baker? Those were the days;)
It's hard but soft pink nails help me relax. Maybe a bath & shave my legs. Talk with cis women friends, go shopping some at thrift stores to find a designer dress for only $5, I do have a garden during the spring & summer. I planted lots of veggies this past spring, that was fun. Talk with men that say they want me even if I'm pre op. Most are frogs but maybe a prince. Cooking, I love to cook sometimes & bake a cake. I wish I had a bathtub where I live because I just love a bubble bath.......
a full body massage
a cigarette after a hectic day
pleasuring myself with my fav toy >:-) after a warm bubble bath.
I find dancing to be a massive stress release :)
I go to three dance classes a week, and its so good to be able to express myself :) also its a great way to keep fit, and no matter how unhappy or stressed I get, I always feel so much better after dancing :) x

cant stay uptight with beautiful music in your ear :)
Shopping, shopping and more shopping

Yeah, I've seen that one. That's a nice train too. Does it sound like a jet engine like the British one does?
