I start my first day of work Tuesday and its my very first job, the manager knows im a transgender and shes calling me by my desired name and desired gender. well anyway after my first paycheck ima start goin to my therapist again cause I havnt seen her in like a year and ima try to get the letter after one more appointment so I can start hormones ASAP and after I start hormones ima get electrolysis the very next week. im wondering after ur first session of electrolysis how long do the hairs stay gone?

Six weeks.
Do know that in order to get electrolysis your hair has to be grown out, I've seen 4 days thrown around. If you are full-time female... make sure you plan this accordingly. Since hormones will take forever to impact facial hair (will only slow it, if anything) you might as well start electrolysis as soon as you can. Get it over with.

i am full time female. so u can get electrolysis before hormones? someone told me u couldnt
You should start it early.
The philosophy behind waiting till HRT is that with less DHT and androgens there is less to stimulate facial hair growth. So hair may grow slower. Some say it will come out easier.... but this is only after maybe a year on hormones. But a good blend method, even a high-tech flash method can kill hairs regardless of androgens. I would not suggest waiting a year to start a process that can take a couple years to complete.
Dealing with electrolysis once you're presenting full time as a woman is a major pain in the @$$. You have to grow the beard out for at least two days before and it's recommended not to shave the treated area for at least two days afterwards. Not a good look. My work place allows me some flexibility, I have a Friday off for the treatment then work from home on the Monday. I wouldn't have considered going full time if I could have done that.

Concerning facial hair removal it's always a long drawn out process for some more than others, I get the impression that you are Hispanic, if so and you have darker facial hairs perhaps the laser method would work well for you. Laser doesn't work well on blond, grey or white hairs and so those of us like that are stuck with electrolysis which I think is a longer more tedious process than the laser process.
Laser is also the opposite of electrolysis in that you need to be clean shaved for the procedure. It also works on a much larger area so you can do more at once.
Hey, you're in a similar position to me! I... have a job. But not... well... I hope I get a better job!
And I'm doing laser hair removal. Which maybe isn't the same thing. But it seems like it takes a while.

I'm a bit confused. So even if I'm not on hormones electrolysis will still get rid of the hair permanently? Does laser hair removal remove hair permanently cause I heard it was just temporary
Both methods will get rid of the hair. Sometimes it's permanent sometimes it comes back. It's a toss up but the best method is to do laser then electrolysis once you kill off all the dark hairs that laser will get rid of and do electrolysis for what's left.

how long does laser take to get rid of the hair permentely like for the average person? I don't hav much facial hair. The most is like under my jaw/chin/neck. I only hav like 20-30 hairs on both of my cheeks
With the small amount of facial hair you have, it shouldn't take more than 5 or 6 laser sessions, as long as it isn't too thick. And laser is also cheaper than electrolysis.
And HRT has nothing to do with it. Most people just recommend getting started on clearing facial hair as soon as possible so that you don't have to deal with the awkward situations like Grace described. For many of us it's a years-long process to get the facial hair taken care of completely.

Oh honey, it's going to be a piece of cake for you. Most trans women start out with a full beard and it takes a long time. I had to do electrolysis and spent a couple of years at every other week and a small fortune and finally got disgusted and quit, so I still have some grey pricklies that I have to scrape off. Grrrrrr!
Congratulations on going full time before hormones or any hair removal you are well on your way. You will sure appreciate the changes you will get when you start hormones.

who do i hav to go to to get lasering? Same people that do electrolysis?
Just do a google search for laser hair removal in your area. And sometimes you can find good deals on groupon.
Electrolysis removes hair, period. It's the only certified method for that.
Laser hair removes hair sometimes, but it does it in larger batches and quicker when it does work.
Lots of people start with laser, get as much done as they can, then finish with electrolysis.
