With the days getting shorter and colder I had been feeling a little down. So yesterday I bought some new clothes and jewelry and had a nice time trying them on. I bought my first pair of girls jeans (I actually bought 2 pair). I must be getting better at picking out clothes because the size 13 fit me, although the legs are a little short. (I don't try on any clothes at stores and I've never returned anything.) It's amazing how just a new necklace can make an old outfit more dramatic. I also took a picture so I can post an avatar when that option becomes available to me.
I think of questions all the time but I don't have full-time internet so it's a little more problematic to post them. Kind of odd for a Network Engineer. After retiring 2 years ago I have only loosly been teathered to the digital world. But after working in networking for 25 years and working 84 hour weeks for 3 years in Africa and Afghanistan, I decided to simplify my life. So much for that decision
Just wanted to share my fun.

I know it's going to sound stereotypical and sexist, but as a woman, I do love shopping. As a man, not so much. I do a lot of clothes shopping on line but also some in stores. I do love shopping for decor and domestics in the store however. This past year I have been transforming my upstairs bedroom into a Dani-appropriate chamber of rest and relaxation in shades of pink and purple.
I found a "bed in a bag" set a few weeks ago in shades of pink, in a department store. Shams, comforter, bed skirt and - all very fem. The young lady behind the counter said "Wow, someone's going to like this!." I replied, "Yes! I'm going to love it!" She didn't bat an eye when she said, "Oh, did you see the matching sheet set for this?"
Dani, your "girl-cave" sounds wonderful! And it's nice to know there are compassionate and understanding sales associates. I feel much more comfortable when a woman helps me or does the check-out register. I feel that a man will be much more judgmental and rigid in how he categorizes people.
Thanks for responding!

It's fun and daring all at the same time! I remember buying a nail polish in a large department store a few years back. I was actually buying it for car paint touch-up on my Trans Am. (Works great for that!) The lady behind the counter joked, "Is this her favorite color or yours?" I laughed and said I prefer paler colors.
