Laverne Cox, transgender advocate and Emmy nominated actress for "Orange is the New Black, is also the executive producer and host of an upcoming documentary, "Laverne Cox Presents: The T-Word."
The one-hour-long documentary, created with MTV and Logo TV, follows the lives and truths of seven transgender youths.
"For many of us, the 'T' in LGBT means more than transgender," Cox said according to the Wrap. "It also means truth. The cast members in this documentary are fearlessly living their truths and in sharing their stories will send the message to other trans youth that it's OK to be who you are."
This is not the first documentary that Cox has worked on. In February, Salon spoke to Cox about an IndieGogo funded documentary on Cece McDonald.
"The T-Word" premieres on MTV and Logo TV on October 17, at 7:00 PM. Following the documentary Cox will host an hour long "Trans Forum," which will be broadcast on Logo TV and MTV.com.

Just watched this and found it to be really great in balancing reality with the mainstream.
It can be streamed on MTV's website: http://www.mtv.com/shows/laverne-cox-presents-the-t-word/laverne-cox-presents-the-t-word/1731865/playlist/#id=1731865
I'm glad laverne is doing this for the trans community
I thought it was really well done, hopefully some cis people watched it.
Thanks for posting this, TLM. Cox did a great job. All the stories were authentic and open up windows into both their lives as transgender people and their lives as normal kids.
Did depress me, though, that no one spoke of being unsure of their gender early on. For me, it was a long process of discovery.
