Title: Breast Health
Post by: Shantel on October 10, 2014, 05:54:22 PM
My SO has refused to have a mammography over the last half dozen years complaining about getting her boobs painfully squished and irradiated each year. At the same time both my healthcare provider and the endocrinologist insist that because of my age, length of time on HRT and the fact that my own mom had a radical mastectomy due to breast cancer that I should have one done. My thought on that was "Like hell I will!" Then I read how Richard Roundtree who had starred as John Shaft the the movie entitled "Shaft" had suffered from breast cancer. We did a little search and found breast thermography as a pleasant alternative and both had the procedure done. There are locations all over the US and something worth doing every year or so.

$150.
It's an alternative so naturally it's not covered by insurance, but who cares when it's your life and health that's at stake?

Yeah I understand the health importance and agree, but 150, wow I was thinking 700 or 800, I was way off.

We both paid double for a six month follow-up to get a baseline on both of us. I think it's a good approach!
It's only money, what's your life worth?
