I have been reading a lot of the threads here but haven't had much to contribute. I feel for my non-binary brethen and even though I'm identifying as ftm I also feel I am now binary. I wanted to share a positive experience.
On Wednesday I went to my first transgender support group. There was a large group of people and several identified as non-binary. After the break, people began speaking with great respect about the experience of being non-binary. How challenging it can be to travel that road with the lack of understanding and role models. How thankful we are to have trailblazers in our community on this journey. There was nothing but acceptance and love in the room.
What a wonderful, positive experience. :) Thank you for sharing the experience with the forum, I'm sure it will help many!

Thank you for sharing this. At the recent ANZPATH conference there were few non binaries in attendance. The contribution of one however stood out due to their confidence and integrity.
The willingness to share, to educate, to participate and to contribute in broader groups will do much to improve the understanding and support which most of us value so greatly.

Hey Christopher,
I'm so pleased that you were brave enough to go it alone, I wanted so much to be there with you. I'm glad that you had such a wonderful and positive experience. I'm looking forward to meeting up there with you in the near future as well as checking on that elk herd with you in a couple of weeks. Sorry I had to miss your first meeting, but that sometimes happens when you have old geezers for buddies. :D
That is such a wonderful contribution here Christopher.!
Sounds like a great experience you had Wednesday.
I hope lots of others can also have those experiences..
Christopher and I may be meeting for lunch this weekend. He lives in a foothills logging town at the foot of the Cascade mountain range where a herd of Elk winters safely close by, the bulls will be bugling for mates, the rut season is on now so we are going to check it out, it should be an exciting day!
