Title: Breast augmentation question . Confused, angry but mostly depressed
Post by: crowcrow223 on October 13, 2014, 08:40:50 AM
So the doctor I chose for my BA just told me that my skin is too thick and not very stretchy to give me implants as big as I want considering I've got very little fat andbreast tissue at the moment.

But I've seen lots of flat chested women get big boobs so does this mean they all got think stretchy skin and I'm the unlucky one? Thanks so much for helping me out to understand it

I don't have any implants myself so I don't know the specifics, but I would get a second opinion. I do know there are real limits to skin elasticity all at once, but over time skin can really stretch so maybe it could be as simple as getting saline implants that get more added to them over time but, I do see really thin tiny women with big implants so there ha  to be a way.

I've heard about this type of problem, but the  surgeon can create a pocket and insert sizers for a few weeks or longer to help stretch the surrounding tissue and make room for larger implants.

One of my former MtF lady friends had a nice shapely lean body with implants. She changed her T shirt in front of me and I could clearly see the ridges of the bottom edges under her skin. Her implants were introduced from a small location under her armpits. I would think that a sub muscular application would work for you.

I suppose it depends on what size you were aiming for. It makes sense if you're going for something large that the skin would have trouble stretching to cover it.

I know that they can put in smaller implants designed to stretch the skin as much as possible and when the skin has adjusted to those you can get bigger ones later.  But again that would depend on the individual how much it can go.

I have had my expander implants for 6 months now streching the skin and creating a pocket for the implant to rest in, the process is a bit time consuming but with my muscle development and the small frame with not alot of strechy skin that is the way the surgeon wanted to go. I meet with her today to schedule switching these out I started in April at first it was a bit uncomfortable when they were first filled but now very happy taking this path to having the breast that I wanted.. well worth the time.. just my two cents worth

My gender Doctor suggested I go to BA facility as an idea for a last resort. I am slim frame hardly any body fat especially on my chest. The Doctor had the smallest size breast implant which would be about right for my body shape. Crowcrow223, I am opposite to you with thin skin that will stretch the form edges would be visible & probably sag. Shan, my friend said it right, under the muscle was suggested. Unfortunately my Ontario province Hospital Insurance Plan doesn't cover BA. The price of $8,500 is too expensive for this senior. Also, I have a friend had a BA done before she got on Estrogen, she says that was a mistake because she has larger breasts than she wanted. The estrogen gave her more breast growth than expected. If you are on hrt, better to let E do it's job first, then if you don't think you have all the breast size you want you can go for BA.

All the best.

There is a limit on what size implant can be used, depending on source materials..  Some surgeons will insert tissue expanders first, to expand to the needed size.

So, yes, it's entirely possible you lack the skin and fat for the size implant you want.
