Title: how much skin do you or would like to show in your fashion statement
Post by: stephaniec on October 14, 2014, 09:24:23 PM
right now it depends on when I get my weight down. I'd like to wear low cut dresses a few inches above the knee. I just got a nice low cut at target and it looks great without a bra .

I love V-neck form fitting shirts. Cleavage is a secondary problem with these type of shirts. That is about as flashy as I get.

I find I am much more willing to show skin up top than I am my legs.

I don't know why it is, just, a low cut top doesn't feel bad, but skirts above my knee feel absolutely scandalous. I am getting more and more willing to wear things a bit more risque though, so lets see where I am a year or two from now.

I like my short skirts and sundresses and summer girly tank tops and I really don't mind showing a bit of bare skin, but I also hate being cold so with fall/winter on the way it's back to covering up! This season I'm going shopping to look for cozy sweater dresses and cute tunics with leggings to get me thru our fortunately mild northern California winter while I dream of next summers cute styles :)

I love the bitterly cold weather! My favorite temperatures range from -10 to about 20 degrees.

I have no issue showing skin.. I love wear short skirts/dresses and tank tops... I love showing off my cleavage.. and I have nice D cup cleavage.

I even love to sunbathe topless, wearing a thong to cover up below.. I am not really shy.

I think the amount of skin one is comfortable showing is a function of age.  Most cis-women my age do not show much skin.  When I got out en-femme I tend to follow suit with long sleeve tops and mid-calf skirts.  I do have a nice black leather suit I got an a really LOW close out price (still a BIG splurge).  The skirt on that comes to just below my knees, and that is my limit.  I have serious weight issues, but my legs are the best part of the package so far; and, still, just below the knee is my limit.  I have gone out wearing that outfit a few times and have not been stared at.  It helps that I am just trying to "blend in" as an older lady.

I'm a girly girl, and I'm usually in a low V cut tank top or halter with a mini skirt or short shorts. But my fav's are my low cut or halter summer/sun dresses with short hems. I usually couple these with a pair of wedge sandals. My legs are my best attribute and I love showing them off despite my age, and I'm not too fond of sleeves. In winter I'll cover up more only because I'm cold natured. Sometimes it's a cartigan over the above mentioned outfits or light girly jacket or hoodie, and I'll wear leggings under my shorts.skirts/dresses in winter. I still look good despite my age and until I have to cover up at er, well, I get really old I don't see my choice of outfits changing.

So good to hear that many of us resist or reject the fashionistas and find our own style.  Friends used to try to prescribe what is "appropriate for a woman my age" but like Noleen I am not shy and wear what feels or looks good to me.  It is so very fun to have this terrific range of clothing to now choose from.  Hell, I walk nude on uninhabited islands so have little concern about too much skin being graced by sunlight.  But I do wear sunblock ;)

I'm more of a nudist than not and I love being a bit of a tease.  I like to look a bit sexy.  Skin  >:-) - whatever the temperatures allow.  The titty fairy has been pretty good to me, and I like to make her proud.  I like and pamper my legs, and will show them off to their best advantage whenever I get the chance -  don't do mini skirts though lol, but short shorts in the summertime - as much as possible.

I love having the freedom to expose or cover as much or as little as suits my mood.  I love feeling girly and presenting girly.  I spent too many years DRAB only relieved by the occasional cross dressing splurge.  Now I can be as brightly lit as any flower in the sunshine, and if it isn't age appropriate - don't look ;).

I wish I could show skin. Trust me, I do. I'm SO jealous of every single damned girl I see who can wear short shorts and a tank top and look cute in them.

I basically can't show any skin except for a v-neck, because my f***ing shoulders are too damned big, my frame is too blocky, I'm too overweight, and EVERY time I've ever tried to wear anything cute, I've gotten stared and scoffed at and felt like a freaking linebacker in a dress.

So I always end up wearing bland androgynous colors, cuts, and basically being forced to hide my body instead of show it off. It's freaking annoying. >:(

If I had my choice, I'd spend my entire life in short shorts, sleeveless shirts, and feminine things. But unfortunately I continue to just not look good in them, so I can't.

It occurs to me, I don't own a pair of shorts....not only that, I haven't had any outside of a gym uniform for PE since I was 8 years old. Over 20 years wearing only long pants, skirts or dresses lol. Maybe I should really shake the world up and get a pair of shorts lol.

I just wore shorts for the first time this year last week when I went on the banks. Usually a tank top is as daring as I go and then only when I'm doing stuff around the house outside. I like to be fairly conservative in my attire for the most part, although I do wear clothes that fit well and not frumpy when I'm away from the house.

It depends on the weather - we've had days of near enough 30 Celsius to heavy storms and 14 degrees all in a week.

If it's very humid, it's nice to wear light clothes and even better if you can let the skin breathe. Sunglasses are good as they block out the eyebrows!

I don't tend to think about how much skin is showing TBH. It's more a question of whether the outfit suits me and the weather or not.

I made a point of asking what the dress code was for woman in the office where I work.  While I have seen what the other ladies around the office wear, much like this conversation, they wear what they are comfortable with in a work environment. That said, none of them show any leg skin above the shins.  And they only show a bit of cleavage.  So I am hesitant to wear anything riskier than what they have sent as a "standard" in the office.  I'd hate to upset the balance in the office....

I don't mind wearing a low v-cut tops with my breastforms, even though I have no cleavage to show off..  With winter coming I'll likely stick to black dress pants and skinny jeans with a heel or boot.  If i get confident I may try some tunics and leggings too..

That's my approach too. It'll be a hot Summer in Sydney this year I think, I plan on tastefully wearing as little as I can get away with!

I love skirts above the knee. I have a few scars below my knee but nothing too bad. I'm using a cream to address it with good results. I'm losing weight, down from 210 to 170 and dropping. Probably would stop around 155 and hopefully I should be ready for HRT by then.

Some times a bit of skin can be like this :)

I usually wear this top over a colored tanktop but thought this tye-dye bra would look cute,

Depends on the location, the weather, my personal fitness, and how far I have transitioned.  Still in the "haven't done much of anything" phase, I'm perfectly content with dressing like the college graduate gum (http://media-cache-ak0.pinimg.com/236x/71/16/f8/7116f81e2920bfa13ada4da4edaae614.jpg) that I am/will be in 2 months.  Maybe in a few years I will be the bold, but professional individual (http://media-cache-ec0.pinimg.com/236x/1d/a0/70/1da07032a0760e802eb585522ba22d64.jpg) that I hope to eventually become.

I don't like showing my legs or upper arms.  I don't mind showing my forearms or upper chest.  When wearing a dress/skirt, I always put on stockings or hose.

Just depends on the season so I dress like any other girl in her 20s. Depending on the occasion or what the weather is like I alternate my style. I do love showing off my legs and butt

Hi I generally find that especially in Summer wearing a sleeveless dress (with the hem line) at least 2 inches above the knee and open toe sandals with painted toenails and nicely manicured finger nails will always  make you pass well. I especially used to like travelling in London on the Underground in summer, wearing a pretty summer sleeveless dress and heels if one could lift ones arms up to the central aisle bar and display ones nicely waxed underarms and of course the gentle waft of perfume that one was wearing female sensuality at its best. I was never read.

In fact just a week or so ago I was in a tram on a hot spring day going down Chapel street and a nice gentleman smiled sweetly at me and gave up his seat for me. I was in a sleeveless dress and high heel sandals. Even my Endo mentioned how gorgeous I looked that day. Maybe its my new female aura.

I love crop tops but I don't really like the feel of high waisted skirts so I rarely wear them.

I can't get enough of wearing short shorts!! I wore them every day this last summer.

Before I started transition so not even micro boobies. :P
