My partner used to give me my T-shots but ever since she hurt me one time she won't do it anymore. She said she thinks about it too much and psychs herself out. I try not to get upset with her because I know she wishes she could do my shots again, but man...she gave me the shots in my hip and it barely even pinched. Now I'm having to do them in my leg since I can't reach my hip. And it hurts bad. It hurts actually giving the shot and also my muscle aches even a couple days later. I'm using fresh needles each time like I'm supposed to...I draw with the larger and inject with smaller needle. I'm injecting in the right spot, I'm sure. And going in at a 90 degree angle. I also massage the muscle after injection. Any tips to help reduce the pain or maybe help my girlfriend feel comfortable giving me my shots again?
As far as making your SO more comfortable, maybe explain what's been going on like you just did here, and gently ask her to please do it again? If she's willing, maybe put some music or funny tv show on in the background that she likes, so she can focus on that instead of psyching herself out?
Is it possible that she may feel better if she had a talk with a nurse about giving the shots?
Personally, I do my own shots in the butt. It takes a little practice , but is possible.
Why not give subcutaneous injections a go?

Subcutaneous injections
- Are just as effective as IM
- Hurt less
- Won't result in muscle soreness (because you aren't injecting into muscle)
- May result in a more stable absorption, reducing any issues with peaks/lows
- May be able to achieve target T levels with a lower dose, reducing costs
I do my own shot in my hip. Sit on the edge of the john and give it a try. I even have a really bad back that prevents me from twisting much, but it's really pretty easy if you do it sitting :)
