Hello, I've been waiting to be referred to a gender psychotherapist for around one and a half to two years now, this comes before the referral to the gender clinic, I have been waiting and waiting on the NHS and I'm quite tired of it. I was wondering how do I go about getting looked at by gender psychologists privately, ultimately resulting in the prescription of HRT? I have no idea where to start about private health care, so some advice would be greatly appreciated, thank you.

I am in USA but also started without help or referals, I was able to find a therapist that had experience in gender identity issues by using google to search locally for contact person then with a few phone calls found one who could support the correct documentation to get me started and would see me, on a medically supervised hormone treatment plan. with that my family care doctor helped get me to an endo that was able to handle the care I needed to have a proper process. She is still my therapist as I move forward with my life

Same here! :)
The rules have changed with the nhs your gp should now refer you straight to an nhs gender identity clinic avoiding the need to see a therapist in the interim, my advice is see your gp and ask them to refer you to the nearest gic, if they are not aware of the current procedure you can find it online and print if off and give them it, you dont mention where in the uk you are but afaik the only private clinics on the mainland are in london
