So....I know there's 3 procedures for masectomy but I got a question.
Is double incision like my only option or would periareolar be possible? I'm 34B.
It could go either way, from what I understand. Depends on how big your B is.
A lot of surgeons do free consultations, so you could ask for one and get an idea of whether the pros think you're a candidate for peri.
There are a few factors that go into it. If they sag down at all you'll probably have to DI. If they're "perky" (*shudder* sorry I hate thinking of my chest this way) then that helps for peri/keyhole. My chesticles don't hang at all, so I'm doing peri/keyhole when I can and I'm very careful when I bind to make sure I maintain elasticity.

Ahhhh...looks like DI is my only option then since it sags plus the nipples are too big.
Personally DI was better for me since they cut you open so big that it should be done right the first time so I wouldn't need a revision. My top half isn't fat so I didn't worry about the dog ears.
As others have mentioned, skin elasticity can play a bigger role.
It also depends on which surgeon you go to, some surgeons are more willing to follow the patient's desire and work with trickier cases. So don't get discouraged if one surgeon says you can only do DI, send your pictures to different doctors and see.
If you do end up getting keyhole, you are likely to need a revision and get the nipples trimmed.

This method might help give you some idea. The standards probably vary from surgeon to surgeon though.
Get a consult or two from surgeons who do both procedures (of course you may get different opinions). It's usually okay to get consults way before you will get the surgery, but you should be up front about that, if it's the case.

Ahhh all right. I'm looking at Rockmore from Albany and Garramone in Florida.
I live in NYC and I got a condo down in Florida so I would save some cash for a hotel room.
How long before Rockmore starts getting his own clone army, do you think? :D

Dr Garramone's consults are free, most surgeons are free, so you can check with Rockmore.
You have a choice on two excellent surgeons. OTOH, I could tell you upfront that Garramone will NOT recommend peri. It's a foregone conclusion and he does not like to (and possibly does not perform peri). Look on youtube, but I bet you would not find anyone who has gotten a peri done from Dr G. I believe he likes DI because the results are highly predictable. He can see before doing the surgery how you are going to look, which is not as much the case for peri. He will do DI on a small chested guy (even A cup, there's a guy A Lion's fear, who was A cup, I believe).
If you talk to Dr Garramone you should know that he talks fast, so if you have questions you should write them down.
I hope we don't have clone war. I hear they are very brutal. :)

Yeah, rockmore does mostly peris, from what I can tell, and Garramone does (almost?) exclusively DI. If you really want a peri, I'd talk to rockmore first and see if he thinks you're a good candidate.
