Title: Hot holiday dilemmas??
Post by: bucks on October 25, 2014, 10:45:14 AM
So I live in Scotland, which is pretty bearable weather wise when it comes to wearing a shirt over a tshirt over a binder to flatten my stupidly huge chest. But now my entire family are going to California next summer, and I'm kind of panicking about how to cope with that kind of heat, especially when it comes to hours of wearing a tight binder and wearing layers to hide my figure. I managed to wiggle my way out of going on the last summer holiday to France but this one is longer and further away, not to mention my older siblings that have already left home are coming. I don't know what to do!

Well I live in california and if you're not used to the heat, yuep it gets pretty damn hot lol. Depending on what part of california you go to anyways. I live in central california, and the summer days are usually around 100-110 degrees F. But, there is usually always no humidity. So it makes a world of difference. I left North Carolina and moved back to CA in the middle of summer, and going from there where it was about 85-90 degree but 80-100% humidity made California's 105 degree weather feel like spring haha.
I would say don't miss out on vacation on the account of worrying about needing two shirts and a binder. Just pack plenty of shirts and plenty of deodorant! Lol

Don't miss out on your vacation! Dress baggy if you can and shower a lot. I did a lot of swimming with my clothes on and drank a lot of cool drinks. And keep reminding yourself you are in another country. You will never see these people again.

It's going to be hot either way, so not wearing the extra clothes probably won't make much difference.  I found it pretty hard to bear this summer down in England in a binder, tshirt and work shirt, but didn't find it much worse when I misinterpreted the weather and ended up in a binder, shirt and coat in an equally hot day.  Keeping hydrated is key, as is wearing something light on the lower half of the body.  I felt that wearing thick heavyweight trousers to be the worst part of summer at work rather than the top half.

I went from living in Alaska to living in Osaka. It was.... It was horrible. Unfortunately there isn't a way to bind that I know of without sweating your rear off. I used baby powder to help soak up some sweat and keep from chaffing. I also doubled up on shirts; a light tshirt with a button up over it. It worked, but I was warm, I won't lie.
