Because I'm feeling a bit insecure about people in RL finding me here I am thinking of changing my name to something else. I posted my options in "What Are You Thinking" and Marcellow suggested I make a poll. So here it is. Feel free to vote or suggest something else.

And now the small print

I voted Tofu, Dufous and Nature Guy. Definitely one of those. :P

Yes, it is. It's just that now you have to ask a moderator to change it, whereas before you could change it yourself.

whew. this scared me.

I don't care that people know that I'm trans. But I've been talking some about my past and mental health issues and that made me want to be a bit harder to find. And then I find out my freaky family found out about my transition/name and I do NOT want them finding me here and I could see them doing a search. I know, there are no guarantees since it's a public forum but I don't want to make it easy. I won't be leaving up pictures anymore and I never name where I live, work or refer to my animals by name. So, I try to be careful.

Tofu seems to be leading, but I voted for the last three on the list as they are furthest from the one you don't want found.  The user name I use here is different from the girl name I use IRL for the simple reason I don't want anyone finding me.  You may want to do a search on "Personally Identifiable Information" and studiously avoid including any of it.  First off would be your real name or any other name you use IRL.  Then you need to avoid reference to where you live, your birthdate, and names of close family members, and the list goes on...

Ismabob is random enough to serve all of these ends, so I add my +++ for this one.

yep, this is why I never use my pets real names. Since I talk about them a lot and am deeply associated with them.

But you are probably right about Tofu. I was thinking no one in real life calls me that. But my adopted family talked about calling me that so that's probably something to stay away from. I wouldn't care if they found me here but it's still probably too close. Let me see if I can add Ismabob

I didn't say I wanted a movie reference. I don't know movies. The other one was just so obvious and everyone talks about movies so I assumed there was some movie reference I was missing

True but when you mentioned film he was the first man of mystery that came to mind. Music and books not film tv are what I usually know anyway
