my first year birthday is 2 weeks away. I feel great with less backward steps. the one thing that's happening though is that as my face inches towards femininity my face still has the maleness which hopefully continues to lessen , but in the meantime until that happens I feel like a half man half woman hybrid . I don't know if the occasional comments I hear from the peanut gallery are directed at me ,things" like I can't tell" or " male or female " I'm beyond the point of no return, but some times I feel like the missing link.
Hey girl you are no more a missing link than I. So what if we get a few comments I use to get them as a guy ( I walked like a girl and still do :) ) if someone does happen to look inquisitively at me and I see them they get a big smile and in my best deep girly voice I say hi. That will usually throw them off guard and I walk away at 6'6" its tough for me to just blend in. Its your life to live don't let the few who comment ruin your day its just not worth it.
I did put a link on one of your topics to my picture its worth looking at and you will see what I mean . Smile it makes them wonder what your up to ! Patty

You're coming along amazingly Stephanie, I remember some of the earlier avatars you posted form months and month ago and the changes have been notable.
When I was a teenager I really wanted to be a mutant, one of the female X-Men characters! Mutants are quite hot apparently!! ;D

I've been full-time for a year and four months, but still have those feelings frequently. I don't expect my face to feminize further. If it does, great.
But inner peace means accepting myself as I am - balding on top, large forehead, eyebrow ridge, wide jaw, big feet, etc. Am I a true woman or just a pretend woman? Not sure about this. But I do know I am who I am, a good person, a valuable, worthwhile person, and someone whose journey has earned her the right to a place in the world as a woman.

I think we are wrestling with the same pressure to look like an ideal woman that all women face. Our distress over it might be cranked to 11 because of our physical past. Still, all us girls are in this together.
