Title: Trans Day Of Remembrance
Post by: Dalex on October 26, 2014, 01:06:09 PM
Hey there, I was not really sure where I should post this but I thought here would be best.

I'm in the Trans Comity here in Iceland and I was asked to perform at the trans day of remembrance that will be held here on the 20th of November and I was wondering if anyone could help me with a song collection?
I have been asked to sing and play Somewhere over the rainbow on the ukulele, but I was wanting to do one or two more songs ether before or after that song but I just can't seem to be able to find a fitting song. So, does anyone have any suggestions for a song? I play both the Ukulele and the guitar, so acoustic songs would be better but I suppose I could always just sing.
Thanks a bunch in advance everyone :)

I've never been to the event so I don't know what exactly is fitting but based on what the event is about and your other song choice I think one of these might work.

Religion by Skylar Grey, All of the Stars by Ed Sheeran, How to Save a Life by The Fray, Stand in the Rain by Superchick

Pretty much anything from Hedwig and the Angry Inch.  Specifically though.. Origin of Love, Wig in a Box, Exquisite Corpse, or even Tear Me Down.  Hedwig's Lament runs into Exquisite Corpse, so that might be a good combo to do live too.

Reflection from the disney movie Mulan  ("when will my reflection show who I am inside" ... I'm pretty sure the songs called Reflection)

a little tongue in cheek, but how about A boy named sue by Johnny Cash =p

Hmmm, I recorded myself playing All Of The Stars by Ed Sheeran and I was wondering if someone could listen and tell me if it does sound alright when I play and sing it? (Bare in mind, I still have not started T yet)

Does that sound alright? If so, I am thinking of having that as my extra song :)
