Title: How long does it take to get testerone pills/hormones?
Post by: Canl on October 27, 2014, 07:21:24 AM
How long after I visit the psychiatrist (for the first time) will it take until I get testerone pills? I'm currently on a progesterone pill called cerazette.

It's highly not recommended to use pills for T because of potential liver damage. And it can really depend on the person you're seeing: someone might refer you to a endo right away if they feel you are ready and are sure that they can directly diagnose you with GID right away. Could take a few more visits depending on what uncertainties you have or by following WPATH with having you take therapy for 3 months. It's another YMMV thing.

It is different for everyone depending on your Therapist. Mine would not start HRT until I was presenting female. It is just hard to say as everyone and their methods are different.  :)

Approximately after 6 months of seeing a psychotherapist you'll start seeing a doctor and should be prescribed after one or two appointments with them. It does vary on waiting lists and the processes of the specific GIC. Look up the NHS England gender protocol 2014.

Youll be given a choice of either injections or gel, pills are bad for the liver, less effective and not used in the UK. I posted some more stuff on your other similar thread, but apparently you've deleted it or I've got the wrong person.
