Title: Weight
Post by: Hailey zy on October 29, 2014, 04:50:35 PM
Form what I have reed after starting HRT body fat is redistributed over time but also it much harder to lose.  I have not started HRT, I am looking for the a good way to lose the body fat i have before i start HRT. I'm 18 about 5'8'' and 175 lbs.

Does HRT affect your Metabolism?

What are some of the more dominate areas where the body fat is redistributed?

I have added exercise daily to lose weight and gain lean muscle mass. I walk 20 minutes a night with a 40 pound pack, walk up 11 flights of steps 5 days a week and go to the gym and work out with a trainer 1 day a week. Losing weight when on HRT after a while means eating right and exercise. At the gym  I do functional exercises. The gym is LGBT and I work out in the mostly female part of the gym.

E likes fat and T likes muscle.

Before hormones it was nearly impossible to put fat on my body. I had a huge metabolism and looked like a stick insect. Since hrt I have found my body able to put on weight in spurts. When for some reason, I become really hungry and eat everything in sight. I was 67 kg and 6 ft tall then 4 years later I am 97 kg and extra beautiful.

Well, as you're 18 you will probably see more changes than others that transition later. On HRT you will look "more" like an hourglass for sure but it's different for everyone. If you begin your transition while having a skinny body you will see the changes faster as the "new" fat will pack already on the good spots but with time the existing one will replace anyway. I would not suggest to "waste" time for losing weight, if you can start your HRT just start it the faster you can if you know you want it. If you still have time before starting it then yes losing weight can be a good idea.

It's easier to lose weight before HRT? Well yes and no. You will be able to lose weight while eating more before HRT but with the same deficit you will lose as many while on HRT. The point is that you can easily stay at BMR calorie count without much problems before but you can slow down your progress if you starve yourself while on HRT.

In my case my body fat was pretty weird... Every part of my body had a up and down in fat at a time then everything got stable. They all looked too thick and too thin at a moment for the rest of my body it was pretty weird. Well I was packing fat in my belly before hrt (not many but enought to never show my abs no matter how thin I was) and now my belly always stay flat, I likely don't pack any fat here anymore as I always seem to see a kind of light 6-pack.
