Several pieces of good news. First off I'm being switched from the patches to self injection instead. I know it is an increase from the dose I was on, but really it's hard to compare the two. The patches never stayed on well and I was sensitive to the adhesive on the patches. Secondly, they finally sorted out the blocker issue. We had been waiting for the nephrologist to sign off. At first he was against it, but because my kidney function continues improve and the fact the potassium numbers have been inside the normal range he has decided to allow spiro with restrictions. I figured if he oked it that the restrictions were coming. The bad thing is the fact I'm back on a low potassium diet, which I never did have to follow for very long. Considering that I was only on the patches and dutasteride before I was still able to get my testosterone to dropped by a good 300 points. As long as my kidney function is nearly unaffected by the Spiro I will be able to stay on it unless the potassium levels get out of control. I also found out that the frequency of visits with the Endo is much lower than I was expecting. His working together with my primary care doctor is allowing for me to not have to make the trips to the Seattle area as often even the the plan is for the second therapist to be from the Seattle area too. Also the the referral for the consult with Toby Meltzer regarding SRS was approved too. They wanted that in place now considering how far out he is booked. I couldn't be happier with how everything is going and the fact some real progress with everything is going on. Also have discovered a little bit of Electro will be needed to finish my face off when I'm done with laser on my face. The lighter color hair can't be seen without a mirror close up before I have them away in the morning, but they have to go too.
