As the title says.
I was at the nursing home and while my wife was being washed etc I sat in the lounge and saw a new resident so I went over and sat with her.
She was lovely, nervous and trying to get used to her new environment.
So we shared a cup of tea and had a chat.
She said something that hit me hard and as being so true.
'I don't regret anything that I have done in my life, sure I have made some stuff ups, but I do regret things I haven't done and now never will'
Worth thinking about
Hopefully she doesn't have too many regrets!
I really can't say my life was too bad maybe a little hard, the only real regret is not solving the problem in childhood.
I can definitely see why a lot of people say that they regret the things they don't do rather than the things they've done. I think people let fear hold themselves back a lot and when they can look at the situation in hindsight, they see that their fears were overblown.
Hi Cindy,
I am a very lucky woman and I am pushing my boundaries. I am going to get to my dream and I may make some mistakes but I am learning regret is a longing to do what you need to do but have not. I keep reliving or recreating an environment so I can choose a different path. I am catching on to myself :)
Definitely food for thought Cindy, I do have regrets about some things I did in my earlier life but view it as part of the learning process so I don't allow guilt to follow any of those regrets. I often muse at how wonderful it would be if I knew in my youth all that I know now. I'd be so far ahead of the curve, and wouldn't we all though!

Maybe I should have had a try out for the Cowboys when I was 17!

Of course you're referring to the cheerleading squad right sis?
Makes sense, right? She knows the results of the things she's done, but can't possibly know what the results would be if she'd done those things she passed up.
Though it makes good copy, I've always been suspicious of avoiding late life regrets as a guide for action.
