Title: A short intro to say hi
Post by: Sbc on November 02, 2014, 04:30:25 AM
Hello all. I'm Sbc checking in from Glastonbury UK (not the festival!).

I'll be posting a longer intro in the transitioning page later on with my plea for advice, but for now this is me.

I'm 33 years old, married with 3 tiddlers. I've spent the best part of the last 25 years suppressing how I feel, and trying to live the prescribed 'male' life. And I've now reached a point where I can no longer function in the real world as I am. This has led to a lot of problems in my life, which I'm attempting to work through.

I've made contact with my GP, and after 6 months of wrangling, I've finally been referred to my local GIC.

As I said, I'll be posting with some more specific questions later on in the hope of getting some advice for moving forward. In the mean time, a massive hello to you all and see you soon!

Cheers. It's been a bit of an effort to get there. I spoke to my GP back in April and saw the therapist 2 weeks later. Both agreed I should be referred, but for some unknown reason, it never got passed on. 6 Months later I contacted the clinic to see if everything was ok and they had no record of me at all. Another appointment at the GP with another agreement to forward the referral, and again it goes missing. My GP has guaranteed it's gone through this time , but I'll be contacting the clinic tomorrow just to make sure.

Hi Sbc, welcome to Susan's Place! I'm from Boston, I'm just making a harbour full of tea, would you like a cup?  :D It's been my observation that medical professionals need to be minded, and reminded lest they forget things. See you around the site!

Hugs, Devlyn

Cheers, could murder a brew right now, just go easy on the sea-water (should be done for crimes against humanity for that! Waste of damm good tea!).
It's just incompetence that drives me mad, I've a lot of love for our NHS, but it can and will get things wrong from time to time.
