Title: New in the US, need help finding a good doc
Post by: Mackan on November 02, 2014, 11:11:16 AM
Hello everyone!

Im a 25 year old guy from sweden, and currently still living there. My wife thou is american and in order to be together i am moving to the US in the near future. In sweden we have free health care and I've always been provided with whatever type of T I wanted , so I've tried two different preps but im currently on Nebido, Since I got tired of putting a needle in my thigh every other week. Nebido is called Aveed in the US (as far as I know it, correct me if im wrong) and is also very very expensive according to the google information I've found.

Well what I would really like som help with is finding a good doctor to prescribe me my hormones, of course I will already have letters from my doctors in sweden saying I need this (The letters won't necessarily say im trans that's up to me) And some info of what different kinds of testosterone is available in the US, and what the price ranges are?

I will be able to bring a couple of months supply of hormones once I come over so I dont need to see a doctor right away, but how far in advance do I need to book an appointment? And do you guys think blood work is really necessary for me to be giving them? I know my dosage is fine and I've been on hormoner 5+ years so I dont really think I need it, I get blood work done like once a year now ...

We will be living in Tennessee, And sorry about my english I hope its understandable.

I would be greatful for any help, Best regards

/Marcus

Welcome to Susan's.

Please don't tell what your dosages are.

Tennessee is a good place but I don't know much about doctors there. Most here use injectable T as Testosterone cypronate (sp?).  You may not need a letter if you can find an informed consent clinic or see a doctor who is willing to continue due to you already being on it.
