Just wanted to know how many peoples here used tattoos to covers scars.
Because they usualy remind bad memories it's sometime better not to see them anymore.
In my case I got a full back tattoo to cover knives cuts and hit. I had to do it full back because of the numbers and the wide zone it cover.
Damned drugs depts, I was not able anymore to work as a whore (some call it sex work but well the conditions we were under don't deserve a clean name)
Nearly all clients wanted BDSM related things. I got few scars from this even lost a kidney doing this job so I quitted leaving my dept unpaid. They were harrasing me for payments and finally they began to attack me everywhen they could.
Well I had the chance to get a good job in a lab and pay my dept in totality after few months.
What is the story behind you tattoos?
I've got a surgical scar that runs from the center of my chest between my breasts up across the left collarbone. It's thin but there. I've considered whether I can hide this via a tattoo somehow but then I have to consider professional impacts as well, working a white collar professional position.
Once my GCS is complete (money going for that and facial hair removal right now mainly), I want a couple small tattoos, not to cover anything but decoratively. But covering up that scar has been a thought of mine as well.
Omg sweetie, that's horrible :( you should put a trigger warning in this thread. But I have a lower back scar from a surgery when I had my lowest disc between the vertibre rupture. So I'll be getting a lower back tattoo of something really pretty to cover or obscure the view of it when I'm in a bikini.
Yeah well tattoos do not always look unproffesionnal. They may even for some people attract the attention to something else than their remaining men features.
I choosed something that meaned something to me, so in the same time it remind me that everything is getting better.
I have tattoos on the insides of both of my forearms, running just up to the wrist. But not far enough so they aren't completely hidden if I'm wearing a shirt, even if it pulls up a little.
Part of the reasoning was to cover marks and such. But also now that I have them there, I am much less likely to harm in that area cos I like he tattoos. Although it was actually so horrible going over the main spots when I was getting them done. A mental pain more so. Physically was fine.
Have some script going doing my ribs over some marks.
Ankle and my left boob too :P
Then a few other pieces just cos. Including my favourite, Tinkerbell on my butt with pink sparkles...
Just need to get something down my right thigh and nobody will ever know.
Have my shoulder scarified though for special reasons and keep that uncovered. Have a tattoo below it too to do with it.
Legs covered in scars from football that I'd love to cover though cos they're not very ladylike.
Getting one on my foot nearer to Christmas to cover a bad mark from football as well. Not gonna have much space left soon :-\
I've thought about it, there are a few scars that I'd like to cover with something simple like a butterfly and flower or maybe a dragonfly 8)
But it is too expensive to get decent work done by a good artist so it's a maybe someday if I have some better luck come my way kinda thing for me right now

I have a knife wound on my back, too. I don't think about it much, but now you've got it on my mind. I suppose it looks ghastly. My elbow is a mess where a dog got me, that one I see and think about a lot. It triggers PTSD with me sometimes. Interesting thread!
