Title: Something he said yesterday...
Post by: PucksWaywardSon on November 12, 2014, 04:16:26 AM
So I was asking about how to deal with school auditions and such... knowing that there's as long a wait for the GIC as there is. I've been assuming that was what I needed in order to get approval for hormones on the NHS... apparently if I can find a good GP and convince *them* that's all I have to do. The time limit on waiting was suddenly gone. He then pointed out my leg was jiggling. I stopped being able to sit still for a good ten minutes. Everything came sort of out of focus and just got so much BIGGER. He'd given me back control of the situation basically, but in the process it sort of felt like he'd handed me back just one of those big red buttons.

If anyone out there has experience of specifically the Scottish NHS and can maybe confirm this, I've been operating with the assumption there's a therapy letter involved (And specifically that said letter has to come from an NHS gender therapist) and it sounds like I might have been wrong about that.
