:'(
Does anyone else get emotional after an intense and painful (are there any other kinds?) session of electrolysis? She worked on my upper lip tonight and I spent the whole session in tears. Now, two hours later, I'm feeling on the verge of crying. Is it a cathartic pain and emotional release?
I had a strong emotional reaction to my first electrolysis session. That session was the very first permanent transition thing I did, many months before laser or HRT. After the electrolysis session was finished and I was walking out of the building I realized I had the hugest smile plastered on my face, I had just taken that first concrete step of my transition!

I've been getting mine done weekly since July but the upper lip is always brutal. I've just felt about two seconds away from tears since getting home. This is the second time a session affected me like this.
that's funny I felt the same way after my first electrolysis appointment walked out the door had the biggest smile on my face couldn't get it off the rest of the day! second appointment is tomorrow going to have her work on my chin and upper lip going to hurt but that's the spot where the hair is the thickest so I'll probably cry for the hole time

The upper lip is very painful. If you get the chance to get EMLA cream I suggest using it. Maybe you'll get better results with it than I have.
