Title: Which AA ?
Post by: Kristyn74 on November 15, 2014, 04:42:34 AM
So I'm not currently on any AA's at the moment but will be going to see my endo within the next two weeks.
Just asking as I've been trying to wrap my head around not wanting ,well ,which one with least side effects?
I've just been started on low E and will be going in for bloods and maybe my levels will show I may not requireto be on, maybe just up the E. Have to think about it and prepare before I go just in case he suggests one, and I have the choice to suggest another....
Thanks.

it is common to go onto E before AAs. I lik spironolactone but it may not be available in the USA, or is it crypto not available?

Plus for CA is it is very powerful, down side is that it can cause depression. Plus for spiro is that it seems to inhibit hair growth. Another is it reduces blood pressure so needs careful monitoring. It is also a diuretic for many users. Not an effect I have had BTW.

What ever you are on needs monitoring, these are powerful drugs.

Many medics want to see how T is reduced by E alone before you go on AA.
They look at your Sex Hormone Binding Globulin (SHBG) levels as an indicator.

I've had initial blood work done before commencing. I'm in Australia I'm not sure what's available.as I suggested, I may not require any but would like to go in prepared.

All the AAs are available in Oz! And to be honest the Aussie medics are so use to treating us it isn't a problem. PM me if you like with who you are with.

BTW watch 4Corners on Monday. We have a win!
