Title: Laser hair removal
Post by: Cole 1994 on November 17, 2014, 02:48:55 PM
So I am currently evaluating where to get laser hair removal and I am a bit skeptical. So there are a few options. I could do the groupon deal, which is much cheaper and the places where the deal is have okay reviews, or I could spend money on a better quality laser/removal at this place that has great reviews. Has anyone done the groupon thing? It seems too good to be true in comparison to other prices... I dont wan't to waste my money for no results. Thanks in advance.

You only have the one skin so why risk bad results. I'd go with the place with the best reviews. Whilst makeuo can cover a multitude of sins I'd prefer not to have more than I already do.  ;D

Inexpensive doesn't necessarily mean low quality. In fact my electrologist is tons cheaper than most other places but she does excellent work. She is trans too and very supportive even telling me where I can go to get stuff done. Just look for reviews and recommendations and go from there.

Avoid Ideal Image at all costs!

I started with a Groupon and I have been paying regular price for over a year now.  It didn't take that long, but I am gradually becoming hairless.  I started with genital and buttox region.  Then to thighs and underarm.  I am now doing my face.  The genital area hurts a lot more than the face.  Check reviews and make sure you can do the treatment if you are using hormones.  I am not sure how they will affect you regarding light sensitivity.

Hey, I was thinking about getting laser done on my face. I figure I can hide all the other places easily enough, but this darn pesky 5 o'clock shadow will always be a dead giveaway when I do decide to go out in public full transition. Anyways, abut how many hours did it take for each region if you dont mind my asking?

The thing with laser is that it drastically removes hair, but doesn't eliminate it completely.  The bikini region still has small amount of hair, but I don't need to shave for five weeks before I notice any fuzz.  Underarms appears to be a longer time.  I still do maintenance on the genital region so maybe 16 sessions with a few remaining hairs on the shaft.  Underarms was about 5, but I don't have a super dense amount of hair there.  Upper thigh I have done 4 and so far I haven't had to shave meaning the laser is doing its job.  I haven't noticed any hair reduction with facial hair after one session.  I am getting giddy thinking of having a hairless face and not worrying about a shadow.  A girl can dream right?
