Title: Winter coat andro EXL long any suggestions?
Post by: Rachel on November 19, 2014, 07:28:34 PM
I am 6'3" and I would like to get a new winter coat that is andro. My wife had a fit when I showed her the North Face Apex coat I wanted for Christmas. I am looking at LL Bean but the guy coats are not the look I want and the girl coats are off limits, as per my wife. I am thinking no coat but then I will have to wear my existing coats.

The North East is cold this time of year, I hate winter.

Tough call. I've never really seen any that were androgynous. I am looking for a nice women's coat though, but I don't want to break the bank.

May I recommend you look into Parkas from both genders and offer suggestions. The designs are pretty similar.

Thank you for the replies.

I will order a male coat, down, just like the woman's but not hour glass in shape and take it to a FTM tailor to make it hour glass. This way I know it will fit right.

I guess andro was me being evasive.

I ordered some tops from JC Penny tall woman's cloths section I am so much want to wear them :) and they are exactly me.

I ended up buying a women's coat from Burlington coat factory down in Chelsea. It looks quite nice and was around 50 bucks which is not breaking the bank. Wore it to work and therapy yesterday. It was nice being me out!

It's kind of an hourglass shape and actually fits pretty well. However it's a large which is kind of strange since my dress size is medium.
