Title: Estradiol level changes post-surgery
Post by: Padma on November 21, 2014, 09:35:11 AM
Hi, I'm pursuing a theory as to why my estradiol levels in blood tests have dropped to a quarter of what they were before surgery, and it'd be helpful to find out how common it is for people's levels to go up or down or stay stable, hence this poll :).

I was on a gonadorelin analogue as my testosterone blocker and this in affect stopped all production of male hormones. So there was nothing for the estrogen to compete with; post surgery I'm the same.

Dropped by almost half.

But t was in the .04 level. Normal on androcur was 06. Level.

So hence menopause hot flash/sweats.

Why would it drop? doesn't seem to make any sense?

I will be testing my estradiol levels next week, have to wait and see before I can answer the question.

Mine went way up - so much so, that my doctor was alarmed and sharply reduced my estradiol dose.
