QuoteThe condition seems to be more common in women than men, for unknown reasons. Scientists suspect that female sex hormones, such as progesterone and estrogen, aggravate symptoms. There are several reports that the condition worsens around puberty. In women, symptoms can worsen just before and during menstrual periods, after taking oral contraceptives, and around menopause.[6]

Might be able to swing it into getting blockers. I'm not a doctor but T might help since it would be dominant over the smelly E.

If you're out to your family, definitely see about getting on hormone blockers. And when you're 16-18 is when most doctors will consider giving you T.

As for dealing with the guys growing and you not, I'm afraid I can't help :/ I went to an all girl's high school so I didn't have to deal with guys around me all the time. But I know it's hard, I had a friend who I saw a lot who made me dysphoric because he was tall and growing a beard.

I was just curious, are you supposed to be 18 to be on birth control?  Or can you take it as soon as you start to have periods?

As soon as you start periods I think, with parental consent. Though some docs may want you to be 13+. I started birth control at 15 or 16 since I couldn't be on T then. I took it up until the month before I started T.

I see.  Did you have any bad side effects from taking the birth controls that long if you don't mind me asking?

For me, all I noticed was I was overly emotional. No other side effects. I got lucky, I know some people experience other things.

I took birth control from the time I was 15, and I went all out - chose Depo Provera injections because it prevents you from getting your period. You're not supposed to take it for over 2 years because it can supposedly cause all kind of horrible issues like osteoperosis and stuff, but I took it for 6.5 years and the only side effect I had was it weakened my teeth so I got a few cavities and needed one removed when my wisdom teeth came in and messed it up.
