Title: one month on t / t flu
Post by: palexander on November 27, 2014, 07:47:17 PM
today marks one month on t! it's been pretty crazy, i never thought i'd be able to say i'm "one month on t."
also... in the past few days i've experienced some stupid side effects kind of like flu. how long will this last? my massive sore throat (larynx area) is gone now, but i'm still struggling with throat drainage and feeling pretty run down overall.

Never heard of T flu. mild throat things but not run down or or drainage. That sounds more like real flu.

I guess you're one of the lucky ones that didn't experience it haha. my friend warned me about it beforehand and other has mentioned it as well. the sinus stuff started pretty early on.. my therapist told me her other ftms had this as well. the run down feeling is bevause im growing and a lot is changing

I used to get flu symptoms for a few days after each shot, it settled down eventually

Same.  I had it worse at the very beginning with the gel (only few weeks on the gel).  It was probably 8 weeks before it stopped.

i'm on gel as well (daily - can i say that!? i'm not saying how much though lol)... i'm on it for 3 months and my endo is going to tell me if she's happy with my changes or not. my throat is a lot better now. it typically hurts a lot before i have a drop, which was true again haha

I got a really bad cold the first week I started T. I thought it was the same thing as what you're talking about but decided it wasn't when I got infections and a bad cough several days to a week later. Ended up spraining my ribs the cough was so bad.  4-5 weeks later and they're still healing *sigh* haven't been able to do more than biking at the gym for this whole time. I digress lol.  It really depends on if you actually caught a virus or if it's as you say it is.  Hopefully it'll be gone before a week, two weeks max.  That would be my best guess.  But of course, you never know since everyone's body is different.  I'd treat it like an actual cold or flu though, just in case.
