If i have go this right, most srs surgeons cut out small section of the glans for use as a clit then throw the rest away. Suporn, however, uses a bit for the clit then the rest is place in the area between the clit and the urethra. Bowers, brassard, Mcginn, etc,... just thow the rest of it away. Do I have it wrong? Do all srs surgeons use ALL of the glans or just the bit for clit? If that's so, there is no way i can pick anyone but suporn.
Yes most of it is tossed as the fake cervix went out of vogue a decades ago. Djordjevic supposedly still does this as part of urethral tissue grafting but I wouldn't put too much stock in the advertising of any surgeon and more on the trust in him or her (and aftercare provided while near them).
Flan, What was the problem with using it to make a like cervix? If there were any nerve ending left you could possibly having some feeling there too.
Mine was a small triangle shape attached to the nerve bundle and blood supply.

When I touch my labia minora, it feels like I'm touching the former corona. In fact, it actually looks like the former corona, laid flat.
Brassard does indeed use a tiny fraction of the glans... but ALL of the penile nerves are concentrated into that remaining small area (just as a cis woman's clit has a very high nerve density). Personally, I'm comfortable with that; not only is it closest to the version created by nature, but discarding extra flesh doesn't bother me so long as the underlying nerves are preserved. He also says he keeps those nerve bundles connected, making it far more likely that they will be functional and sensitive in the most important area.
(Full disclosure : other nerves are cut and rearranged, just not the clitoral ones.)
As for the cervix, my wife yowls in pain if it's touched. I think I'm OK not having one like that, and anything else would be inaccurate to nature as well. ;)

Jenna Marie, I think I have seen this comment from Brassard before... It makes me wonder however, how that is supposed to work. Nerves connect the nerve endings, which are the actual touch/pressure sensors, with the brain. When the endings are cut and thrown away with the large part of the glans, the nerves don't have anything to relay to the brain. It's like cutting the eye off but leaving the optical nerve intact. I don't belive that the severed nerves would grow into what has remained of the glans and create new nerve endings (sensory corpuscles) there. Neural regeneration is very limited. Any idea?
Apple : I have no idea of the science of it, aside from the fact that this is how Brassard claims it is done. He says he preserves as many nerve endings as possible.
All I can say is that my personal impression is that the technique is adequate - it definitely feels as though there are MORE nerve endings in the new clit than were in my glans. While I'm aware that this is impossible, it suggests that the "concentration" method was effective!
Brassard definitely gave me more of the glans than the tiny bit of flesh that makes up the clitoris. Whether it is the actual circumference of the corona or somehow the nerves have connected to whatever the new labia minora is, it definitely feels like I'm touching that part of the penis. Interestingly, thirteen months post-op, the nerve signals have not remapped and established a new topography; it still feels like part of the penis. And that's actually fine; I didn't have too much dysphoria of the genitalia, anyway. It feels a bit like scratching my nose to satisfy an itch on my big toe. :laugh:
I specifically asked my surgeon to make a small neo clitoris. Mine is the size of a pea. Still highly sensitive. Even the hood can stimulate it by just lying down. Hence why I asked for less, as I was worried about a hypersensitive clit. So my surgeon indeed used a small portion and threw away the rest.

I'm having the same experience. Feels like there's a penis embedded inside me. I don't mind, as long as I'm shaped correctly.

It feels like I'm tucked 24/7. When I'm aroused, it feels like I'm tucked and aroused. For some this may be a problem, but not for me. Spacial remapping is probably down to effort. I've given it none and couldn't care. Mirror therapy could fix that. As it stands, I find it all fascinating and wonderful. When I place a hand down between my legs I can only grin satisfyingly.
