This board remains the most trafficked & other parts of the site just generally don't get as much attention. I need feedback on my voice & any & all opinions would help greatly. Thank you

If you guys think I need to work on anything, don't be afraid to say it. My voice is the hardest part of transitioning & any & all criticism will be taken constructively. Don't hold back :)
Your voice sounds amazing. Completely utter female and sooo cute! Did you actually have a higher range before transition and HRT, I ask this because I'm lucky to have a voice on the natural female spectrum and your voice looks so natural to me, so yeah :)
edit: omfg, your original voice is not really that low, sounds kinda masculine sometimes but I'd guess it's on the androgynous spectrum
Your normal voice, btw, could totally pass as husky female voice either :). But I second - Your "new" voice is much much nicer.
Although, I really really loved Your lower voice too ;).
Alrighty! Now before anything I am going to just play the advocate of the devil. Your voice sounds nice but honestly if you would speak to me (knowing how you look hella pass-able) I would question you being transgender. But keep in mind for transgenders it is easier to spot other transgenders.
I hear a lot of Ahm, Ehm, a Pha like sound at 0:10 and the ya, which probably gives it the 'gay' accent you speak of yourself. Also, your 'old' voice isn't masculine. It sounds heavier but not masculine and I think an in-between sound would be perfect, but this is preference also :P.
As an example of the above. 0:32 sounds perfect, so does starting from 1:35 'what can I improve on?' but the 'day' at the end gives it that.. little bit of accent.
But it sounds nice, and pass-able so don't have too many worries about gathering confidence of taking it outside. I am just saying improvement points. Never said you don't pass with it :P.
Thanks, guys! (: I guess now it's just about getting the confidence to speak in that voice 100% of the time. You guys really don't think there's anything I need to work on? Not too nasally or anything? That was the issue I was having before but I'm not sure how to get rid of it $:

Well, praat averaged the voice at 120 Hz so I think that's in the definite male range. Also, thank you for the compliment. Your voice is naturally so high & girly. You got really lucky :) You're gonna pass well

No, I don't take any offense! Thank you so much :) This is the kind of criticism I'm looking for. I'm not sure how difficult the gay accent will be to remove but I'll try very hard on it. I hang out with nothing but girls so it shouldn't be too hard. I'll just focus more on how they talk & try to talk like them. Once again, thanks so much :)
You're welcome ^^. As for the accent, you use the 'ehms' the same way as how I try to make never-ending sentences. Try to put shorter sentences, stop them. Dot. And continue with your new sentence. I have to work personally on giving myself time to breath and I notice you give yourself that with sounds in between. Maybe you can try it like that? Not sure if I am making any sense at the moment xD.

Awww! Thankies so much! ^_^
And umm, praat can be tricky sometimes. I think it depends if you place the microphone well, sometimes it just gets it completely wrong. I once recorded myself speaking in my normal voice and it averaged 170 Hz or something and my voice is much higher. So IDK, but if I were you, I would record yourself again speaking in your original voice. I bet it's somewhere between 150-180 Hz, and you could pass with your original voice as husky female voice as Emily said honestly :) And I don't agree with Kirey at all, sorry, I respect her opinion but if I came across you, I would have no idea you were transgender if you spoke to me.
Real talk.
It sounds very nice.
So does your lower voice.
What your female voice lacks is full musicality so, if you drop it a bit, and I know you can, you will have many more notes to play with and it will be much nicer to listen to in a conversation. Right now it is so high, you are limited to just a few notes you can sing up there. Women sing when they talk. Do your best to access low and high notes, it will help you express in a more adult way.
Really though, great voice work and thank you for sharing. It gives me real hope.

Thanks, guys :) I think all of this pep talk is really going to give me confidence to speak in an higher pitch :) Also, I just did the praat thing again & it averaged my normal voice at 150 Hz this time, which is a lot higher than last time. Idk, Praat is weird. That's why I don't always trust the readings it gives me lol Maybe it'd be smarter to make multiple clips & average them out.

I'll try that :) I'm hoping that by talking in the voice more often, it will increase my range & I'll be able to naturally talk more melodically like I can when my voice is slightly lower. My goal is to be able to bring it to average female range
After years of vocal training as an actor and singer, I learned that almost every female talks in a higher register than their natural voice, but once they move it down they are so much more able to be fully expressive. Those low notes are really nice when used in moderation.
Praat averaged the file I sent to Yeson at 160hz but it definitely sounds much more male than yours. Maybe it's picking up some sub harmonics and getting confused.
Well, it is entirely possible to speak in a high pitch and sound like a guy. Just as the opposite is also true. Baseline pitch is just a small part of voice.
I think you sound great! I'm used to British accents so it's hard to judge a lot of aspects but you've got a great kinda gentle softness going on and the pitch is good! Wouldn't worry too much about bringing it much higher - a lot of women talk in quite a low range anyway and you don't want to sound like you're trying to speak in a high voice!
Well....this is coming from one who has not even attempted a beginning, let alone be knowledgeable about pitch, register etc.. There is no doubt though that this is not only difficult and intensive but also I 'think' to be successful one has to become relaxed in the new gender enough to let this be reflected in the voice.
So with all that said, I decided to pay more attention to the news I was watching on the tv rather that putting 100% on being critical. I did this in hopes of recreating hearing someones voice in the background in order to hear 'clues' (dont know if I'm saying this right).
For my experience in listening, I did not seem to hear noticeable times of that mental 'what?' type of thing until you made the switch back to male mode. For a short moment after moving back into female I could hear a vocal stress that I'm pretty sure is just a natural thing and it was short lived.
All in all, if I can even get this far, I will be a happy camper :). Good Job/work shows Dani
Thanks for your kind words guys :) You guys are helping me a lot & I really appreciate it! I think I finally got it down. In about a week or two, after using the voice often, I'll make another clip. I think the voice I want is stuck in between my normal & higher range & although it hurts to keep my voice there, I think if I just keep using it, I'll get there in no time. You guys have really helped me so much, I'm so happy  Thanks, again!
Brilliant work-how did you train yourself to do this? You might want to work on your cadence a bit, in terms of phrasing it still reads as gay male (and hey-if you love it, absolutely keep it! It's sorta cute actually!) but that can be something to consoider working on. But it's amazing really. What program if any did you use?

If it is hurting do not push it too hard. I did a couple weeks ago and it is still niggling a bit.

Hmmm I'm not sure honestly. I would off & on voice train but the type of voice training I would do was reading a chapter of a book in falsetto & afterwards my voice would kind of fall into this higher range naturally although it wouldn't stay & I could never keep up with it. I'm really not sure if it helped me but it might have. Nowadays all I've been doing is being a little more cautious of my voice & making sure its raised just slightly above where it was before. I feel like it's slowly but surely getting more feminine from that alone. & yeah I'm gonna try to work on that gay accent I have. It's just hard to get rid of since I was very flamboyant before transition.
Thanks btw (:
Hmmm...you know, if that's how you've been training yourself, it means you've been straining your vocal cords; this is very very bad. My advice? Try going down a bit. My voice is a quarter deeper than yours, but it passes too, and is never painful for me to do. I had to break free of the overly flamboyant voice too-it takes a bit of time, but it's fairly easy. You may want to move down from your nasal regester a bit; it's not good for the vocal cords. The ideal voice rests on the border between the nasal and chest regesters-it has the most range, the most dynamic flexibility, and sounds very, very natural. You've done a really great job hon...if you can make it a more healthy voice, it'll be utterly flawless.

The thing is, getting that voice isn't hard in any way for me.I just talk in my head & It doesn't strain my vocal cords or anything. If I tried I could easily talk in that pitch all day. Although I do think you, Kirey, & Hanazono are right. A little bit lower would be less nasally although I've been trying to keep it where I want it all day & in the beginning of the day my voice hurt quite a bit. It's hard to balance my voice right there instead of completely in my head but I think if I really work at it I can get it. I actually think hanging my voice in that spot causes more strain on my voice than the one I posted honestly.
Ok...just, if it hurts, be sure to stop immediately-but you already know that.
Hi Jasmine... Very passable, love your voice...
The discussion earlier on pitch and frequency are nicely rounded, does not sound at all pitchy to me, only comment is the "yaa's" sound a little out; overall a great job, certainly would not stand out in a group at all..
By the way, wish my voice (natural) was as high as your natural was :'(
Love Katy :-*

Honestly, I never realized my voice was naturally somewhat high until all the people on this site told me. Now it seems that all those moments in high school when I'd ask girls if my voice was super deep & they'd be like "No. I think it's kind of girly if anything", have come flashing back. It's so weird how we become so accustom to our voices... Even when I was super little & I thought I sounded like all the other boys, I would always get asked if I was a girl because of my voice.
But anyways, If you guys could hear the voice in my head that I use when I talk in that voice it's pretty hard to use it publicly but you guys have given me confidence :) In my head the voice sounds so high pitched & annoying. Like, If I pushed a little harder I'd make it into falsetto with no effort. :p
