Ok so I'm not exactly new to this site, but I havn't been around for some time and would love to reintroduce myself. So Im a biological male that wants to transition to female. My name of choice will be Jessica. Im am 21 years old and recently came out to my mother, which was much easier than expected btw. I know I will still have to come out to the rest of my family and friends, not to mention the world which will be much more difficult but I'm starting to feel more confident with who I am and that really helps. I'm waiting to have an appointment set up for gender therapy and am a little nervous but still can't wait because it's progress. I also will be starting college next year to obtain a bachelors degree in psychology. I think that I will have to hold off hormones and such until I finish my associates degree which makes me a little sad, but motivates me to study harder. Anyways I'm very excited to be part of this wonderful community and I can't wait to start connecting with you all. :)

Hi Jessica! I'm glad to hear coming out to your mother went so well - I hope you find it as easy to come out to your friends. Best of luck with that!
hello Jessica, that's such a pretty name...I have a cousin with that name....and at your age, you may be making a wise decision to hold off hrt if you plan to be stealth....I would start on little things though such as hair removal for the face....if you have light skin and dark hair, laser may be best route...you may inquire though about starting T blockers at least, to stop male advancement...such as hair on body, etc....some start of this way before starting estrogen...but idk if that's good or not, a doctor will be able to tell you....good luck! ! :-)
Hey Jessica
Welcome to Susan's :) Great to have you here - looking forward to seeing you around the forum.
Sounds like you have everything under way and under control which is great. HRT takes about a year to really be noticeable to other people if you are still presenting as male. You might find you want to transition during your degree rather than wait until the end of it and hopefully your college would support you in that.
