So Ive decided to purchase a tri-top 997 underworks binder. I went to their site and looked at the measurement charts, I was instructed to "take a snug measurement at fullest part of chest over the nipple" easy enough. I measure 33.5" I looked at the chart and the chart read "small 31-33" and "med 34-36" ......I'm a bit confused at which would be the better choice, size up or size down??
I am built a bit odd, with a broad chest and wider-than-my-hips shoulders, but relatively small breasts (Like a cup for sure)
I'm 5 months on t and I work out hard, and my muscle is increasing, but I'm still self conscious especially in the gym and at work. Presently I've been using a "one size too small" sports bra, but it is becoming uncomfortable and not to mention its old and starting to wear out.
I am hope that when I hit one year on T or so, maybe I won't have to bind but I need something till then.
Thank you and cheers!
Go for the bigger size.
I also measured 33.5 but decided to get the bigger one. Also A cup. I feel like I could've gone a size smaller but I feel like I definitely wouldn't have been able to wear it for as long as I wear mine now. It feels like it compresses the area right below my chest more than it compresses my chest though, which kinda annoys me. If you're on T though and building muscle I imagine you'd be building some pecs too so go with the bigger size?
Ok cool, I'll try sizing up to 34. Just wanted to make sure before spending the money, since a binder seems like something that I can't return once I've tried it on.
I'm also between sizes; I just bought a 997 and decided to go with the larger size. It's perfect -- flattens me nicely, and it's quite comfortable to wear.
Agreed- I'm in between sizes too and I got both the smaller and the larger. I only ever wear the larger, the smaller is excruciating if I wear it for more than an hour and it rubs my arms raw trying to get it on. Not worth the trouble.
Yup go with the larger. I just got two Underworks Binders. I have a 30" chest and so got an xs (for something to 31"). Both were too small for me. I ended up having to stretch them out. If you have sewing skills and it ends up being too big you could always take it in a little. I've done that before.
Better not go to a size down cuz it'll just turn into a push up bra without any pads which u really really wudnt want. When getting a binder, don't feel like "oh, maybe a smaller size will bind better since I can fit n it's a little tighter." No, that is not right. It pushes ur chest up and the out come will be really bad. :)
