I went shopping to buy more manly clothes and it was so easy. I felt so comfortable compared to before (when I looked like a girl). Anyway, whilst I was shopping I had a look in the mirror and I looked like a young man/boy I felt so good! People probably wondered what I was but I think I passed since I was dressed like a man (baggy trousers, hat etc.). But its still awkward going to the toilet. I went to the womens toilet but I didn't want to. I think maybe I should go to the disabled toilets instead.
Well done, I'm so proud of you! I'm still uncomfortable in the womens section, and I haven't bought anything for myself yet... You're always free to use the disabled toilets, as I see a lot of people using them without having a disability..
Canl, I am much more comfortable shopping in the men's section, just feel like I know what I want, never knew what to buy when I was trying to buy women's clothes for myself. I can also say that I am more at easy using the men's after I the first few times.
First time I shopped in the women's section I found it a lot easier than I thought. Then I saw men clearly shopping for their girlfriends or wives. That made it even easier.
I've shopped in the men's sections of shops since I was seventeen or eighteen. It was so liberating to walk into a store without my mum and browse clothes that I liked, that fit well, that made me feel comfortable and at ease. I don't know why, but I never thought much of it. I was there to get some new jeans and sod anyone who had a problem with it.
I'm thirty-three now and I go to the LGBT charity shop here in Atlanta [Lost N Found]. All the Atlanta gays drop their stuff off there and it is good stuff, too! Now if I could just get these Devil's Dumplings off my chest, maybe my waistcoats would fit better.
High-five, mate. Glad you're feeling comfortable in your own skin - and clothes.
ahh nice!! i can definitely relate, when i first started transitioning the men's section was super scary. i felt like everyone was staring at me and i hated it (but not as much as i hated the women's section). it's getting a lot better now so wooooooo
Congrats bud!
I can happily relate. After I told my mom and granma I wanted to dress more masculine they gave me $200 and said have fun. I find it a lot easier to find mens clothes for me and remember staring at the womens clothing for almost 15mins before I decide on a neutral shirt lol :D. Suits cause issues though. Only have money for one but I want like 10!

OMG I want your mom and granma to be mine!
Canl, I'm so happy to hear you got over a "hurdle" in your trans process. Always great to hear the happy stories :D

I went shopping for men's pants today for the first time and I can totally relate to this! It was so easy and it felt good. It also seemed like everything looked good and it was easy to find pants that fit well. I always avoided clothes shopping before (I think it might have been dysphoria but I didn't know it, it just never felt good and I'd get frustrated/disgruntled really easily). I can't wait to get more stuff :) I don't pass yet, I still didn't feel out of place.
